Could you point me towards where exactly he said that? I would love to see that... :)

He said it near the beginning of the live stream I think. I know he said it because I sent him this via PM on the No guts no galaxy team speak.

Most games have abandoned single player modes for a reason. Huge amount of time and resources devoted to a campaign that is usually completed in a day or 2.

I would say for new player experience a more extensive training ground.

Good singleplayer - 100% yes.

Half-assed, rushed singleplayer - no, rather focus on making multiplayer more fun.

I have really wanted a single player mech since I saw that video from a few years ago....I really enjoy MWO, I am not disillusioned in that everything that they said it would be a few years ago have still yet to arrive, but it is progressing, and seems to be picking up speed now, But I still really want to just blow mechs apart without worrying about winning a match and just relieving some stress throughout the day on some AI mechs that don't know what they are getting into. Whether that be a horde style gameplay, or an actual campaign you play through, or both.

I want a campaign with missions, characters, cheesy live action scenes, combined arms, a plot... Not a horde mode personally.

But I think the female commander could show a bit more leg like star trek Kirk style :)

I think a singleplayer element to community warfare would be awesome!

Hey everyone,

In the recent no guts no galaxy interview with Russ - He mentioned a strong possibility of Singleplayer.

Should this be done?

Sign off with a Yes or a No and what you want to see :)

A thousand times yes. A single player game is all I really wanted. I've said before that I'd spend upwards of a hundred bucks for a version of MW3 that worked on modern hardware, but an original game would be an acceptable substitute. Especially if it were easy to mod.

yeah, i think it really should happen frankly.

MWO has the chance to do something cool, and a singleplayer, lore mission based type gamemode would be good.

hell even give it a side economy, where you start out with basic gear [and any package mechs you've bought] and fight though varrying misisons with seperate tracked economy.

hell if they could pull off a single player experience that's even HALF as good as MW4:Mercs, I'd be impressed, and super happy.

YES, but CW first, we've come too far not to get it out of the way first.

I'd pay for it on one condition: I would want the ability to play it untill the end of time, regardless of whether or not PGI stops supporting the game. If I need to be logged on to a PGI server to play an offline singleplayer game, I'm not paying a cent.

A F2P coop survival mode might be the easiest and safest option for PGI. But they could probably make a lot of money with a good single player campaign, if they did the proper marketing and made some nice trailers (their trailers for Clan Invasion were just sad) show-casing some good voice-acting and interesting scenarios.

@OP

No... single player is a waste of resources and too easy no matter how hard they make it. Plus... people would whine about it... "I took me 2 hours to complete and I think it should be at least 10 hours..." or "The AI sucked.." or "That story makes no sense"...

Its a no win situation.

Well, after the statement that CW will be the last big thing in MWO I don't believe there will be a chance of the intend of PGI to create a singleplayer modul

No it shouldnt, they need to focus on the multiplayer. I never even touch the single player campaigns in games since CS went into beta in 1999.

I guess my answer is pretty much the same as everyone who already posted.

CW first. Get that fully released, fix all the bugs, balance tweaking, etc.

Then, yes, single player would be nice. I really enjoyed MW3 and MW4 so something similar to those. Lots of different maps, varied mission objectives, 3 AI lancemates (perhaps you could also make it playable as 4 player coop), a variety of enemies (not just mechs - give me tanks, helicopters, turrets, etc) and a well written story with video mission briefings (those other games weren't the best acting quality but still added to the charm of the series).
