I took a gamble and threw my support behind MWO as a founder. Personally don't like what it is, I knew going in that there was a serious possibility this would be the case. I hope other's enjoy what I helped financially support. With that said, a single player random mission generator would be a God send. I would actually log in and play, and get some use out of my founder mechs. Since we are talking rainbows and unicorns here, I would love a full fledged, multi phasic campaign mode, with the ability for players to create missions to help supplement what PGI puts out. It would be glorious to have a great MechWarrior game again.......

Yes, I'd love to see a single player MW game.

I think they should outsource the single player game to another company with CryEngine experience.

Provide that company with the art assets from MWO. So basically all the other team would have to do is create the maps, AI, story and missions. Once the single player is finished, tie it in with MWO, and add the maps that were created for the single player game to the live MWO servers. Hell, they could even add the maps to MWO as the other team completed them.

This would likely get us the single player game much faster. PGI could continue to work on CW, new maps, ui2.0, and adding more mechs to the game.

Hey everyone,

In the recent no guts no galaxy interview with Russ - He mentioned a strong possibility of Singleplayer.

Should this be done?

Well they develop now on their own, I would love to see a remake of MW 2 and 3 within the Engine they have now. Also most mechs are already done, so they would be able to benefit from a lot of work not being needed to be done again.

improve AI, Add Co-op and I gonna buy it.

Not before 2016. MWO may be at a level of polish where taking on another big project would be feasible. Trying it now would mean a **** multiplayer experience forever.

Russ : " What´s the next big thing after Community Warfare...there is one giant elephant in the room beyond Community Warfare that i think everyone is thinking of (47:27) "

Me (excited) : Solaris ? Collision (Melee, Death From above ) ? Destructible Environment ?

Russ : "Singleplayer"

I was so baffled.
I don´t care about Singleplayer and i really hope it doesn´t slow down the development of Multiplayer any further.

Multiplayer needs more complexity and many many many more Maps.

If a Single player existed I would not hesitate to purchase it. It would then be MW 5 to me.

1) Only after Community Warfare

2) 1-4 player sp/co-op PvE that scales based on how many players you bring, with rewards and consequences to your account for participation. Id write a massive post about it, but lets face it, being MWO community we all have our own very distinct ideas on what we would want from a single player/pve element.

I am not talking about training.

I personally think that we should have some sort of campaign with cooperative play.

Look at games like Kingdom come deliverance. Now Imagine that in the world of battle tech.

Not to mention the cooperative play possibilities

But that is just me.

Yes.
I don't know the game you mentioned but everything else iswhat I would like to see as well.

YES! I've always loved playing against bots in mechwarrior games, lets you really experiment and play with builds that would get completely shredded online. Even very basic single player would make me extremely happy.

Build the first iteration as a tutorial that transitions into MWO once we have community warfare. Then, given success and adequate returns, develop a full blown single player version to attract new blood who have the requisite piloting skills.

I'd love to see it, but I also feel certain it will never happen unless you'd have to pay like $30 to play it, at which point most would skip it anyway.

Stop distracting us with fluff and get working on CW already.

Agreed Community warfare needs to come first. I am talking around the start of the new year maybe.

Russ stated (i think) this was all aimed at 2015 (single player) and that it would be whatever we wanted AFTER CW. This will not be BEFORE and will not take away from CW. He was speaking on the future once CW is finished. And i would LOVE a single player campaign mode. Included tutorials for the first few matches and we have a nice way for new players to get into the game without running into the equivalent of a LVL 60 when they turn the corner on a Dakka Wolf.

Heck just go ahead and plan a MW 5. Be it 5 10 years from now I don't care. I loved MW4 in the sense of managing your lancemates' strengths and weaknesses, deciding which missions to run, building lance loadouts, the missions tactics with various nav points.

Build it and they will come.

Singleplayer? Uhh... If they want to commit a couple years to building that up, then releasing it as a fully fleshed out game in it's own right, sure. Otherwise I don't think it'll be a worthwhile use of resources.

... I'd just be happy with a version of the training grounds where the targets shoot back.

I would absolutely play the living **** out of a PvE gamemode.

Also, it would give them an excellent excuse for getting to work on AI units, such as tanks, infantry, and the like, and those could be huge in the MP portion of the game as well.

Convoy/Escort missions, "Consumables" that give you a little NPC hireling tank, MOBA gamemodes with ceaselessly spawning minion units... I'd love it all, and I think the first step towards it is singleplayer and/or PvE.
