The only previous mechwarrior game I played is mechwarrior 4: mercenaries and I really loved it. If i remeber correctly they had the death match feature duruing the campaign with 10-20 mechs (cant remember the exact number) fighting in the arena.
Is it posible to implement something similar in MWO?

Well skirmish is Death Match, unless you want 1vs1 in which case private match.

Otherwise it's Solaris see here:

I hope this comes soon.

Actually, I think he means free for all? Team deathmatch is what we have, deathmatch is free for all. Atleast, in the old games.

I meant the free for all deathmatch. I guess it's the Solaris arena deathmatch. It's been a while since I played mw4 :)

Of course they can do it, it's just a matter of whether or not we'll ever see additional game modes. There's also a matter of making it fun in a non-respawn shooter. 1v1 on the current maps would be very tedious, for example.

There's also nothing stopping PGI from creating respawning to set up game modes like King of the Hill or just simulating large battles where a team wins by reaching a number of kills first, or getting the most kills in a timed game.
