And with PGI working on their own IP, generating their own new and completely different game...
Is MechWarrior Online the ONLY MechWarrior title that will be created during the entire duration of the IP license?
Please don't sit on the IP with just MechWarrior Online to ever come out in over a decade.

They only acquired the publishing rights to MWO from IGP, and IGP still has the publishing rights for Tactics.

That's still debatable with fingers pointing in many directions.

It seemed like a virtual version of the TT game and even playing the table top version as a new comer was a bit tricky playing with the beginner rules.
I would have been more likely to play a multiplayer version of Mech Commander. That game was hard, but I did have fun with it.
In either case, whom ever has the rights, might have a rather unpopular game on their hands.
P.S. Also was not a fan of Tactic's artwork.

Like I said IGP retains the rights to MWT, however there does not seem to be a developer for MWT as of now. The project is probably doomed, but that is irrelevant to the OPs fear.

Look at the conniptions people are having because PGI started a 2nd game. And you want them to crank out a 3rd?
Lots of assumption with that one. Thanks for staying on topic though.

I wasn't happy with it due to being a browser game, the art was pretty horrid as well.
But considering it was the closest thing to MechCommander with the ability to have a mech without timeline restrictions (or so assumed) it would have been nice.
However Microsoft did release the source code for MechCommander 2, which many have been creating mech models for. Might be the only thing out there available.

The point still stands. PGI is not sitting on the IP at the very least IGP still has the option to produce MWT. Those links about what is happening to MWT are irrelevant to your fears of other games not being made. I will say though it is very unlikely that any other game is going to be made other than this one for the time being. They could lease rights for other games, but unless someone comes knocking I don't see it happening.

I think NGNG is doing some work on Mech Commander 2 as well. It might be a neat game depending on how it pans out.

How is that irrelevant?

It is irrelevant because PGI and IGP are not the same company, and both have the right to make a MechWarrior game yet you are here asking one of them(the only one actually making a MechWarrior game mind you) to not sit on the IP. If you are concerned with MWT get in contact with IGP.

Do you have the source proving that IGP has the right to make a MechWarrior game?

Go listen to the Town Hall from last night. PGI only acquired the publishing rights for MWO from IGP who still holds the rights to MWT.

You're not doing a very good job of sourcing anything. Reread the original post about MechWarrior in general, not who holds rights.
You're also doing a bad job of stating my fears are irrelevant because "I said so".
Also, can you prove that the split of IGP personnel from work with PGI over a MechWarrior title did not cause MechWarrior Tactics to just poof?
Before counting someone else's fears as irrelevant, maybe you should look into how people are different and how things are perceived versus "Cuz I feel differently".

IGP held the publishing rights for MWO and MT.
PGI bought back the publishing rights for MWO.
What does that leave IGP - assuming they still exist - with?
As it is though, MT is for all intents and purposes dead. The devs were let go in December without IGP telling anyone, they sold founder packs up until two weeks ago, and since then the website has been in "extended maintenance" and the game unavailable.
I'm sorry, but everything points to MT being dead and gone, and more than likely IGP as well.

IGP comes across as pretty freaking evil and I'm sorry they've had their hooks in MWO for so long. There are people who bought into a game who are never going to see their money's worth... whatever people can say about PGI and the development of MWO ... well, I won't talk for people, I will just talk for myself. I have gotten a lout out of the founders, phoenix, and clan packs. The only thing I'd change is the Phoenix purchase as I will be riding clan mechs in CW, but still... all purchases have had value and I've been able to play to my hearts content..
