I'm not the one crying I can't win in a brawl, so you better learn a thing or two boy instead of looking for trolls and other imaginary creatures

5 CERMEDs have very decent damage at even 600m and within 440 optimal its 35, which is what most IS heavies would be carrying in a form of 3 LPL which quirked have 438 range and 33 damage

And in a brawl nothing beats SRMs

Also it's funny you mention maxed armor as bad, while bitching that you have little surivability, would I be a nice person I'd not call you a moron for doing that, but I'm not, so I have to point out the stupidity of that remark

What are you even talking about?

I'm dead serious, you noobs can only play 1 style and then ***** that your clan one trick pony performs worse than IS one trick pony, when you actually have an option to customize and use other strengths

Learn to mechlab, if you manage to somehow suck on a tier 1 clan mech, it's you, it's not the mech

You said that Timber will never win in a fight vs a Black Knight, that's downright wrong, neither has a 100% win chance

Also you somehow find it faulty to use med lasers with srms in the same build, when they actually compliment each other perfectly

You have made so many assumptions and burned so many straw men in your last few posts it's amazing.

I commend you on your ability to argue with yourself, it's been truly fascinating to watch.

Classic diversion tactic, you try to dodge the topic and blame it on me

1) You claim my armor designation is bad - argument or stfu

2) You claim Medium Lasers and SRMs are bad - argument or stfu

3) You claim Timber always loses to a black knight, that's downright ridiculous

So far you made multiple claims and backed them with nothing, you're either a moron and can't see it or an intentional troll yourself

Timberwolf versus Black knight is like the WW2 Spitfire vs the ME 109.

One is better in one thing, that the other, and simular in diffrent situation, but they still are close performance wise, meaning that the pilots way of using the advantages better, will be the victorious one.

As a Spitfire defeated the ME109 in turning and acceleration at medium altitudes, the black knight is simply better at a close range. But the ME109 could climb way faster and fight at high altitude, a very important aspect in aerial combat. In this case, the Timberwolf has acces to missile and ballistic weapons, something the black knight completly lacks.

I'de like to introduce you to my second most played mech. It has 673 matches played 7000 matches played (not including CW of course).

Not to mention the TW has access to JJs and 3 VERY high mount energy hard points :).

I like the Black knight and the TW both, but the TW is just a bit better in many circumstances (IMO).

I can definitely see the BK being better up close. Shorter beam duration and better heat control will make it very deadly in a close in fight (which also reduces the effects of low hard points). Still, it has to get that close. A TW is fast, can often JJ, and just has some awesome range, and can mount some high energy allowing it to soften enemies at range before finishing them off up close.

A good match up (and like theta says, the pilot makes the difference), still, I'd give the TW the edge.

Now I have to facepalm

So lets recap:

1) You disagree with me placing an MG - you have them yourself

2) You disagree with my armor designation - yours is nearly identical, with a few points more on legs and less on head, those 3 points are totally a lifesaver and change everything about the build ...

3) You have the same build except for putting SPL instead of cermed and you're surprised you lose?

Well that should be no surprise since a black knight will be delivering a full alpha or two on to you before you close in and start dealing damage with half your weapons

Not to mention there is quite a difference between srm6 with and without artemis

While in my build you can trade at longer range evenly, since at ~400 range IS ML deals too little for him to be using it and waste heat cap, because if he does that he'll not have enough damage before overheating to drop you, so he'll be using his 3 LPL

One question:

If you believe the Timber Wolf to still be as strong as you make it out to be, what do you believe is the reason most competitive teams now bring Black Knights and Grashoppers instead?

As I said.

You have been arguing with yourself for almost 4 posts now.

All I said was: A timberwolf Laservomit build cannot beat a black knight laser vomit build anymore.

That's it, full stop. Since then you've started talking and spewing all sorts of tangential nonsense and arguing with me about things I've NEVER SAID going on a crusade about things no one is actually talking about.

Calm the **** down already.

Cause:

1) Lasers are better in a peekaboo game and that's a favorite strategy of theirs

2) One weapon type is easier to manage

3) Little tactical adaptability, knowing opponent will bring laser meta what you should bring srm/ballistic brawlers and you will win, but it's simpler to hone that 1 thing you do, which is what everyone does, which is lasers and which just happens to be the one thing Black Knight is designed to do great.

As for grasshoppers, I have no clue, why would you ever bring that flimsy, super tall huge target that just screams shoot me

1) Back armor, my oversight, that's legit mistake noticed by you

2) That's why I started of by saying you pick one thing it's not better at, as if it was of any relevance, since it can do other things that make it overall more adaptable/better

Because many competitive teams flip-flop factions? I mean, the thunderbolt with ERPPCs used to be really strong, but groups still stayed clan and used Timber Wolves.

Granted, I don't follow the competitive scene enough to know for sure, but it seems teams just like to mix things up and go from one faction to another (especially after a map reset), just seems normal from what I read.

T2, though it won't take long to hit T1, however seeing as how you use SPLs and then proceed to whine about how you're bad laservomitter doesn't encourage me to guess you're beyond T4 scrub who just happened to see a few youtube vids of them pros and now knows it all

On a serious note, your dispute boils down to CW usefulness - just wanted to add 2C-LPL 6C-ML still win the trade, if you pick your range right.
