Guys, you have done it!

We have been asking for quite a while to have the ability to disable chat and, lo and behold, here it is in this patch!

I believe this will go a long way towards calming things down in matches and making games more enjoyable. I, and the Seraphim, salute you and thank you for doing this as it will cut down on trolling in matches, make the games more enjoyable for players, and make it easier for parents to introduce their children to this game without wondering what will come across the chat next.

To everyone involved, from the decision makers to the programmers: "Thank you, thank you, thank you..."

Ain't that the point? I always thought the TAG required you to hold the trigger and target rather than a toggle, makes them more susceptible to pilot error, which for a massive "SHOOT HERE!" light for both teams is kinda a good thing?

Yes, Hans, that is HUGE! I get tired of using a nice tactical sneak strategy only to have my AMS kick in and bird dog my position ... that is a HUGE plus as well.

OH MY GOD! Someone spent time working on this? Oh this is the answer to all are problems. One of the only "calm" things in the match was when players would say Good luck or Good game. This is how you start to win back the community PGI?

I agree... But I don't use the TAG because it acts really weird with my mouse. If I hold down the button I use for TAG, I can't rapidly use my chain fired weapons. Best I can hope for, is alternating chain fire between left and right button. If I try to hold all three buttons, it works, as long as I'm not moving. The moment I start to move, none of the buttons register.



For what it's worth, you can kind of see what I mean, but it's impossible to tell without having it explained. I should have testing the alpha strike button while moving (no reason to suspect it wouldn't work) and tested alpha strike while holing the mouse buttons, though.

You can opt in to the chat and say "good luck" and "good match" all you like ... just opt in.

People who don't like to view all the profanity and trolling can opt out of it all and save both parties (players reporting objectionable behavior and PGI support staff) a lot of precious time.

This makes the players who opt out happy and it saves Piranha support manhours so that they can deal with other issues.

So, fewer wasted manhours and giving choice to the players. Yes, that is a good thing.

I view GG or GJ by a team that just stomped you as condescending and trolling. It ticks me off every time. If you use GG for every match then it has no value and shouldn't be said. Since there is so little legitimate use of text in game, it is better for everyone's sanity to just turn off the trolls, and get Teamspeak. Pugs don't herd, and teams have teamspeak and don't listen to other plans either so why bother? Turning off the aggro is good.

Best feature in the last 2 months of patches IMHO.
