I'm outing myself for this, but I posted in the thread already so my head's on the chopping block alongside all the other brave founders who posted here.
Hi, my name is PoptartsNinja and I'm a goon!
I'm a goon who has had short stories published with Catalyst, who got so excited for MWO that I wrote lengthy fluff pieces for The Mittani in spite of having no connection at all with EVE online, and who has had an active "Let's Play: BattleTech" thread on the SA forums for nearly four years. Fanart created for my thread served as a springboard that allowed one other goon to become an artist for official BattleTech TROs. I love BattleTech, it's a fantastic universe. I don't have a Reddit account, so I take great pride in knowing that I am responsible for the "takeover" of r/mwo.
Goons may ruin everything but we didn't ruin this. I'm just kicking back on my island to watch.
That always killed me when I saw it on the forums too. "Goons are ruining this game! I wish they would all go away." Yeah, it's terrible to have hundreds of players who are passionate about the game, who write articles for you on other site, who organize teamplay, who make dozen-page-long threads giving thoughts about the state of game balance, who draw concept art, who tell all their friends about this game they're having fun in. What a terrible fate.
Treat your players right, and they'll do the same for you. PGI could have had a great thing with goon support for this game. Instead, they pissed off the whole community enough to turn great allies into staunch enemies.
Disclaimer: I do not have an SA account, and am not affiliated with WoL. But I have been playing MWO long enough to know that goons had a hand in most of the good things made by the community.

None of this would have happened if you didn't blatantly lie to,mock, abandon, and belittle those that were your biggest supporters.
Maybe this whole fiasco will be an eye opener for you as a company.Maybe now you will actually buckle down and commit to providing the things you promised years ago....with quality and care, instead of just half arsing your way to the next cash grab.
Also,check your ego's.please.
But...I doubt it.

That i cant tell cuz i donot play star citizen. According to the video he says that the community is giving Star citizen the power to make the game.
He knows whats going on and knows how to show respect to his community instead banning them into silence. He also says that Sc is one of the rare games that relys on its community entirely- We need our community to support us throu every step. Its very important to have everybody on board, make sure the community understands what we are doing and why we are doing it.
That all sounds like a very good CM if you ask me

This is the most out of touch company I've ever seen in my life - it's honestly like they have autism. And I don't mean that in a derogatory fashion - they are literally blind to social cues.

Edit: holy **** look at all these founder tags it's like a class reunion
Joining in on the reunion, youve convinced me to log in for the first time in months to throw in my opinion as a diehard mechwarrior fan since mechwarrior 2 on how extremely dissapointed I am with PGI. At least before they got the rights to the franchise I could look back on it with some respect and dignity.
At least Im not the only member of the "bought founder and has regretted it since" club.

How Microsoft has not pulled the plug on PGI, I will never understand. It's either they don't give a F, or no one has delegated this to them yet. I really hope MS cares enough to investigate hard evidence of poor development and community relationship that they'll eventually pull this franchise away from PGI. It just can't be realistic to leave Mechwarrior in the hands of PGI for 10+ years.

What i think irks me the most about this situation is that ive always thought that the number one rule of reddit was "If you don't like how something is run, make your own subreddit." But if seems to me that if you have some sort of monetary stake or bias you don't have this ability. If I work for apple, does that then ban me from making any apple subreddits?
Plus its not like what PGI did was unique, look at http://www.reddit.com/r/cgpgrey
At least with what PGI did was transparent, at least we know that they are who they said they are and if they are up to nefarious shenanigans, we know its them. What the Admins here are saying, dont bother being transparent with the public, just make your subreddits by a random alt user, and hide it behind a proxy, because if you do, we dont care.

Yeah the fact that all us bitter MWO goons + nongoons are posting in this comedy PR thread is because, deep inside, we wish this game was still good. Those 2-3 months of closed and early beta are trophy memories.
Now excuse me as I alt + f4 to toggle my 3rd person view

PGI reminds me of a saying. Wake up and meet an *******(@ssH0l3), and you've met an *******. Wake up and everyone is ********, maybe your the *******.
From where I'm sitting I only see one *******. PGI sees many.

Do you know what it is now? It's nothing but a shiny golden reminder that you scammed me. There is no other way of putting it. You scammed me out of a LOT of money with promises and a franchise that I loved.
I could have dealt with the flip-flops on important game-mechanics IF you'd have a LEAST delivered on your promise of Community Warfare. That's what I bought in for. It's the reason I was so excited about this game.
Instead, what do we get? We get increasingly expensive bundles of ****, designed to do nothing more than part your players from more of their cash. You haven't had time to complete community warfare, but you've had time to continuously add new mechs to the game? Come on.
Then the final insult. You have a game and community falling apart at the seams, and your decision is to launch a NEW game? A game with some of the most INSULTING 'reward' tiers I've ever seen.
"If we get to $1 million, we'll give you ships you can FLY!!!", then you apparently need an ADDITIONAL $500k just to let people customize those ships? No worries guys, because you can't even FIGHT with your ships unless wwe make ANOTHER $500k
You have the audacity to jump onto another companies site, break essentially ALL of their rules, and then complain at the bans you rightly receive? You really do have an overrated impression of yourselves.
Thanks for ruining something that I have loved since I started gaming, and thanks for making me despise my founders tag as a reminder of just how much you screwed me over.

And thats what you get Wrong.
You ARE ALLOWED to do a reddit on your own Stuff.
You are NOT allowed to be the Sole Mod, use it to promote your stuff for free and create rules within the reddit, which give you all the power over whats beeing said and what not.

Yeah, I've seen the name before. It's amazing how someone can be so worked up about a game that barely has any game to it. I'm no champion of CIG, in fact some of the things they do highly irritate me, but damn is that guy butthurt!

Nine pages in and this is the closest we've gotten to a white knight. If that doesn't send a message I don't know what can.
(It won't, nothing can get through)
