Haven't been here in years, haven't posted much anyway, but the hope is still there for PGI waking up one day and MWO becoming what it should have been destined to be instead of just a money grab from all the people who loved this franchise and grew up with it.

If what was in the OP is true, and I am allowed to voice my honest opinion of this event without being punished, then I'll do so:

This is just absurd. It's as if PGI metaphorically hit someone in the face, then got upset that their hand hurts. The years of community uninvolvement, abuse, and disrespect is starting to materialize.

I'm not deriving any kind of joy or schadenfreude from this whole debacle, because I never wanted to see MWO fail. All I feel is disappointment at the leadership and community management at PGI. You have irreparably damaged a very important franchise and IP that is obviously important to all of us here.

Everyone makes mistakes, we all do. However, it takes integrity to own up to it. And that's something that PGI has not done since day one, nor do I expect them to at this point.

It isn't really a stand though. Half the posts will disappear, some bans will be served, and half the founders will end up on the post approval thing.

Hopefully we'll get an admission of guilt and finally a move to using the games' forums before reddit or twitter, but that's it. Nothing we haven't seen before.
