They are looking for people of the people, for the people, elected by the people.

No they're looking for an echo chamber. Their moderation tactics have made that painfully obvious over the years

My point is, space is precious on most IS mechs. 5 tons and 5 crits is asking a lot. I'd be curious to know how many people have re-equipped the command console at just 3 tons and 1 crit.

It is a lot. But it gives your whole lance level 2 targeting computers (worth 2 tons and 2 crits each) plus it gives you an integrated TAG (worth 1 ton and 1 crit). So thats 9 tons and 9 crits of equipment for 5 tons and 5 crits.

The Command Console is currently not worth 3 tons and 1 crit. But if it buffed nearby IS mechs I imagine more people would take it.

I'm shocked and pleased to see the offer. IW is complicated, so I don't know if we'll be able to pull it off, but thanks for giving us a chance for once.

Okay how about this, this is what many of you have been waiting for:

Well first a question: Do you think you the community can come to an agreed upon consensus? One in which if the changes are implemented everyone says great job PGI on listening to us now we feel great about ECM and your ability to listen to feedback?

If the answer is Yes then I suggest the following:

You the community decide how your going to present a proposal, nominate a peer that you feel has the best handle on this, put together your own player council whatever you like but present a proposal that your peers vote on. The vote would likely need to be far greater than just 51% in favor. Perhaps something more like 80+%

At that point PGI will analyze the proposal, if we see any technical problems or balance problems that we feel perhaps you didnt see, we will point those items out to you. Then if necessary you can adjust your proposal and put it to a vote again, if successful PGI will again analyze and repeat if necessary until we have a final design solution for implementation.

PGI will then communicate how long it will take to implement with full explanation as to why, and we will patch the changes in upon the agreed upon delivery date. Once complete if this whole process has gone smoothly and civily we will proceed with doing things like this far more frequently or at least for other areas of the product that are controversial.

What do you say?

Hi Russ,

This is exactly what we asked for during #saveMWO last year. It looks like you're willing to work with the community, however it looks like you're still holding back and saying "only under these conditions". I get that, I do. Please respond saying you will make yourself available for clarification during this process, so that we can make sure we continue to be on the same page.

The last thing anyone wants is for us to put together a player council, get 80% of what we think are the active game players to agree to something, and then have you all come back and say that's not enough. I'm not saying you would, but I think we all want to ensure that a process like this is transparent and the goals and constraints are clear and well-documented. Then we as a community have something clear to work for and we aren't operating off of any assumptions.

Speaking of which, do you mean "80% of the player-elected council" or "80% of all active players" or what? We need to know what number and constraint we need to shoot for here.

I would love to see a world where the community is actively working together with PGI to make a game we can all be proud of.

Most of our councils are in the exile.

First you have to unbann those known passionated ppl who are well known by community in order we can elect them.

Those ppl are known as sandpit vassago Rain Raodbeer victor manson and many i forgot to meantion

Yes, let us bring together the Sinister Six to get a consensus of what is good for this game. Absolutely brilliant idea, there.

If the sarcasm is not thick enough, I apologize ahead of time...that deserves WAY more sarcasm than I can do politely...

You can barely get them to sacrifice something for AMS, I don't see it happening outside of a unit requiring it be equipped. Which brings us back to what would now be overly nerfed IS mechs(across the board)in the pug queue.

Bolow, be on your way.

He responded to this thread, despite it being critical of a feature, because it was asked, and without accusations and other forms of ****posting.

----------------------------------

As far as this thread, I am mostly done with it. I am beginning work to synthesize information from previous threads. (Yay search!) to come up with a rough draft for the community to work with and refine.

This is unbelievably exciting, please do not ruin it.

Well once a vote is up, advertise it in the launcher and people will vote. Maybe give out a voter's ballot cockpit item for each voter as an additional incentive :P

They should just remove the GECM friendly hiding bubble, that would go a long ways. Then later they can add the Angel ECM as a separate equipment choice.

Also passive radar.... we need it!

Hey Live, whats up?

I'd argue that Chronojam and that Roadbeer fella would do much good in a situation like this.

As Stalkerr is pointing out, we did this over a year ago with #saveMWO. Since then a lot of the mechanics have changed and there are a number of obfusticated mechanics to work around, but we certainly could do it all over again. Our concern is that all that work will again go towards nothing.

If the representatives can have a straight dialog with your team about balance, starting with ECM and if it successfully moving on to other things (keeping the scope small) this would be a step in the right direction.

I say... You made me click 'Like' on one of your posts for the first time in roughly two years.

If you go through with this (and if we can come up with something that satisfies your rather strict terms), that's quite the step forward.

Well done for once, Russ.

Chrono would definitely have something to add to the conversation. He's done some fantastic write ups before. Roadbeer on the other hand... well just follow his twitter lol.

edit in regard to the #savemwo, the reason why it failed is because who was backing it....
