I always thought capture the flag made good use of the different mech classes.Couple assaults to defend the flag, couple medium or heavy mechs out in the field scouting for incoming light runners and helping capture incoming flags, and light fast mechs for the run capturing the flag .Add a missle boat or rac "roid" to harass enemy defense and you have one hell of a game .

Yeah it was a lot of fun on MW4, especially in those large city maps.

Not sure it really has a place in MWO. Especially given that the game model doesn't allow for respawning in combat.

I was under the impression the developers could add in whatever game modes they wanted , or what the community wanted .

Thats only because thats a game mode. Obviously CTF would be a different game mode. It wouldnt be hard to implement.

You know, Capture the Flag in a NO RESPAWN or DROP SHIP game will likely become very interesting in a very good way. Players will behave very differently once they figure out that they can't simply respawn over and over and over.

I really think that the Developers are on to a good thing with the way that they are approaching MWO!

This. The game would pretty much be TDM with the optional rule of having a scout nab the flag and make off with it before your team gets butchered.

IGN posted a while back that if your a scout who's suddenly all alone, if you can draw out the big hitters on the enemy team, you can break away and cap their base for a win before they can get back to it in time to stop you.

Probably the best thing about MW4, loved CTF. I miss it and hope to play again. This game is mechanically well suited for an awesome CTF environment. I think this game should include it on Solaris because it is kinda silly and needs respawn.

Every game needs some form of CTF its one of those classics that everyone (well by the looks of this thread ALMOST everyone likes) Besides, it's a gamemode, its not like you HAVE to play it, its just an option for those who would like to play it.

The "Flag" could be anything at all. Capture the Flag is represented time and time again in the novels. Take for example Justin Xiang's raid on the secret research facility for the experimental Myomer Fibers. It played out just like capture the flag, he fought his way to the objective, captured it, fought his way back to his dropzone and "scored." You can color it any way you like. Stealing data, rescuing a hostage, etc etc... But capture the flag does work.

They often do it for much less... anyway make it a memory core or whatev. Or just move the game to Solaris where they do it for fame, Cbills and street cred. :) nothing demands taking a life more then having your street cred disrespected. Have you never watched Gangland? lol

No you didnt ,lol ...talk about brutal . Put a Flag or as cinco called it "cloths on a stick " in the middle of the map , Try and get there first , and then try to ram it through the other teams "goal " . sorta like football with mechs

BattleMech quiddich. Lights try to shoot the golden snitch, while mediums and heavies try to force the ball through a goal area defended by assaults.

Nah, forget I wrote this actually.
