My vote:

1. Koniving

2. Homeless Bill

3. I'm still irritated with the year of PPC/AC5 meta, so I can't think of anyone other than Adiuvo from the compies.

Streamers and vocal minorities should not a Council make. If you really want to make a difference - commit your real life to this game and put in an application with PGI.

Started as a thread. It's important enough.

Here is who I would vote for:

Homeless Bill - author of target computer loading idea, predicted how the meta would evolve after ghost heat implementation

Konivig - Has played the game through its many iterations and metas

Adiuvo - good ideas of how lights should balanced with agility quirks

Roland - author of economics idea to balance underused mech variants

Rasc4l - author of sensor range / role warfare proposal

Just one question:
  • - Will all players you dare to mention, will dare to implement weapon and armor stats of Lore/Sarna/TT in MWO???
If not, they just can S-M-D. I and a hell-of-a-lot people do not want some POP-Lobby-Clan-FanGirls in a Players Council..

I don' t know. All I know they've made reasonable proposals to fix some of the problems in the game.

Huh, the problems are much deeper that just one issue fixing. The balance problem is in game stats/values of weapons, equipment, armor. If they for real wanted to fix it reasonable we need to roll back stats and values to the Lore. If it's not done for both IS and Clans there will be no balance, no fixing... just another smart-butt bullcrap talks, other words just preemptive bla-bla-bla.
Whatch deeper, open Sarna.net and explore the universe. Than you'll not gonna be bullcrapped by some smart-butt. Likely for us Battletech have canons.

You'd find a lot of the nominated parties to be very familiar with the Battletech universe and all of its various forms in different medias.

Well said - the task define the members.
If it is the task for them to "refine" all ideas - without evaluation - every body - with enough time can do the job ;)

If they are able to sweep ideas away - because they think they are unrealistic to implement or a potential game breaker - you need a broad field of "community" members. (few Task Force Members)

next question - is every idea reviewed by every council member and than they vote internal if they want to think about this idea or not - causíng an extraordinary investment of time. (Of course you can reduce that with a bigger Task Force)

At least a proposal:

The name TASK Force should really be used. They should not work on any proposal - they should only work one specific task. In this case ECM, maybe when work is done (information from PGI about the idea) - next topic CASE.

Also very important the quality of the community ideas. They should have multi short terms what the idea is about:
Example:
  • Remove Invisible Cloak
  • Cloak IFF
  • Reduce Information Gathering Time
  • ...
Of course the suggestion of the community should also include - the reason behind those changes, how it is supposed to work, why it should work this way... and much more.

That would help the Task Force - to collect and merge multiple ideas

that is the point many of us have driven at. 1 time, special investigation/advisory committee. This is not about who has lots of forum buddies, or even necessarily really good ideas. It compiling the thoughts of the Forums then presenting a series of Proposals before the Community as a whole to vote on. Should the community get it's stuff together and we get a reasonable consensus, forward the proposal to the Devs to implement if reasonable and doable. (Let's face it, so many of the "ideas" floating around on things are either impossible, so impractical as to be functionally impossible, or would require huge investments of times and money that may be deemed excessive compared to the actual nature of the issue)

Basically, we need to have a compilation of the best, simplest, most practical ideas put forth. The concept that a "pure democracy" is the best way to achieve this, is a tad optimistic at best, more likely, outright naive.

Also there is nothing that says any of these positions are to be long term, permanent, tetc. This is actually, a lot of work, and is focused solely on this one problem. Mind you, Russ has already intimated several times that should this work, there WILL be other opportunities, but hopefully, we the community will police ourselves, create what ever structure is needed to simply keep Politics and Cults of PErsonality and Agendas from forming. My idea is some sort of term limits, be it a one time post, or one cannot apply again for so many Committee sessions, or any number of reasoned ideas we can come up with.

Because indeed, whilst we need to embrace this opportunity, and find a streamlined, efficient way to make it work, we do NOT need to open a window for agenda driven power blocks to form. We have already seen the harm in that from the Black Knights vs White Knights battles in the forums....and that was done with no "real" power.

I will just butt in and say that TT hasn't been balanced since the Clan introduction, problems of translating turn-based values to real time aside.

Simple answer : Roland, for example, advocated for TT values during Closed beta, and I'm sure many others have as well.

Most of the people you are advocating against have a longer history in this game, and this franchise than you know of, hence have an interest in this that goes waaaaay beyond an Ego-driven powertrip.

this council is focused on one topic ECM. Period. It's a 1 and done, ATM. You are entitled to post, to give your opinion, but really if you don't take the time to read and educate yourself on what is going on (a trend the "Foes of PGI" prey on) then you limit the value of your own contribution, precipitously.

re: the google doc

I'm pretty sure that someone posted that they had talked to Sandpit and he would be willing to participate. He should be a yes.

You know that livewyr accepted. He's been drooling about getting on for days now.

Fairly certain Roadbeer accepted on another site as well. Again there was a quote posted in one of the two huge threads.

Vass says no, he refuses to have anything to do with PGI if the "bans for 3rd party site activity policy" is in place and as far as I can tell PGI has zero intention of even revisiting all that crap they pulled to try to clear the way for Transverse. He's still playing and looks forward to the shock on all your face's when PGI changes their tune yet again after they have sold a ton of clan mech grab deal #2's and can go back to not caring about our good will.

Fupdup is forum banned per this thread, you'll need to contact him elsewhere.

I believe we've heard something from Saxie and Roland in this or the other ECM thread.

Also can we get those units like HoL, SJR and Devil Dogs to reduce their nominations to 1 person. Its foolish for them to split their vote or to try to get multiple unit members onto the council.

I'm fine with Roland, but Council still need to Code of Conduct... cause I/we/ customers want to be safe.

and TT should always be the baseline. And most thing beside RoF (and possibly the heatscle) started at it, in Alpha and early CB. But then things went sideways. One thing we do know, not that it is relevant to this OP^as a whole, is that TT rules and FPS reality don't always work well. There will always have to be non canon changes made to achieve balance, especially since the source material itself was never really balanced, in pre clan. And once DHS occured, it's all downhill.
