Most Popular BattleTech Character(s)?

I must admit that I don't really know much about BattleTech but I'm trying to get a better understanding of which characters stand out and are important to readers/players -- especially mech pilots circa 3050?
There's a couple of lists online, but it's difficult to distinguish their impact on everything:

Thanks in advance.

Victor Steiner-Davion, Kai Allard-Liao, Hohiro Kurita, Jaime Wolf, Morgan Kell, Phelan Kell (Later Phelan Wolf, Phelan Ward-Kell, and Phelan Ward), Sun-Tzu Liao.
Personally, I'm a big fan of Cassandra Allard-Liao (Even if she was almost single-handedly responsible for the Confederation being in a position to retake St. Ives) and Shin Yodama (He's a frelling Yakuza who hangs out with the Prince of the Dragons. How awesome is that?)

My second line runners up would of been Shin Yodama, Jaime Wolf, and Grayson Death of the GDL

Both the commentary in the Solaris match above and the reading of a mechwarrior's remembrance are read by George Ledoux, the actor who portrays the voice of one Solaris announcer Duncan Fisher.

Then you're in for some good news. While Natasha Kerensky has already gone home for the invasion, she won't meet her end for another 7 years - as Khan of the Wolf Clan.
I'd expect to see her name pop up every now and then once the Clans start their 'Takin' it back!' party.

Perhaps I am just nostalgic, but at the time she was introduced there weren't too many utterly badass female characters in any fiction. She wasn't the damsel in distress; she was the nightmare that made veteran Mechwarriors **** themselves.
