Last Night I had around 900k cbills......And I really wanted the summoner-prime, there was just no way I can afford, and I know it would take like 150 matches to get the money. So I did what was unthinkable for me, sold about 30 engines. So I got like a bunch of invalid mechs. gotta love that spontaneous fk-it attitude.

I am having fun and absolutely love my SUMMONER PRIME. I'm running it stock right now.

I try to take the role of "SUMMONER" scouting being the first contact and then calling in all the friendlies. I don't brawl just hang back and "snipe" , bad fps = bad aim.

My biggest complaint about the "THOR" is UI 2.0 is so "unfocused" you can't see the paint jobs well. I chose the buccaneer camo its a pretty mech, I HOPE. Least from 3rd person it look nice.

If your a try-hard, power-gamer, don't get this mech.

A crap-pilot never has a problem finding a crap-mech.

Yeah, it's on the south side of mediocre. It would be nice if it had just 3-4 more tons of pod space. The TWolf weighs 5 tons more, but can carry 7 more tons of weapons (along with one more built-in DHS). I did okay with a Gauss + 3MPL build, and later with a Gauss + ERPPC build (both on right side like a HGN), but it's a weak loadout for a 70 tonner. The Shadowhawk can do Gauss + ERPPC, and that's with IS weapons on a chassis that weighs 55 tons.

I bought both a Summoner and a Sparky, and the Sparky is so much better it's not even funny.

Don't have too many dreams of dual Ballistics on each side torso. You'll have enough trouble fitting in 2 UAC5s and some ER Mediums on it.

You were doing well in your post - I actually liked the first portion of it - until you decided to insult anyone who likes something well designed "a tryhard".

If you feel you need to insult other players to make your own choices feel validated to you - then you are lacking in perspective & objectivity.

Why would you use 5ALRM5? 2ALRM15 is lighter, more heat efficient, higher DPS, and provides better AMS penetration. Oh, and it doesn't use ALL of your possible hardpoints.

Only for the fun factor, really. I am perfectly satisfied with my Summoner's build. It works where it needs to, and I can up the firing rate if I need to. :P

I was surprised too, but it does appear worse, at least from a damage and kills perspective.

Hmm.

Probably too much emphasis on the "Support" and less on dealing damage makes it look worse than it really is on the score board.

Honestly, now that I noticed your name and knowing what you're doing, and recalling some of your data, I'm not surprised. Still, I think it's just a case of damage/kills/assists being just part of the overall picture. My Cute Foxes definitely outperform my Badders... at least the ones I bothered to use. They grate me for some reason. :/

I've been up and down about Summoners, however I am happy to report that I did find a stable build I can work with after all and Saiyan Pride is now my primary mech.

Limited tonnage is the only real disadvantage to the chassis, but it is a big one. Loadouts are also limited by slots and hard points and so a less-is-more approach is the required response. I have found them to be capable brawlers or fire support, with the right omni's, but I have settled for the midrange where I prefer to be anyway. It really can fill any role, but you have to be willing to work with it rather than force it to fit the loadout of your dreams. It's much like the Dragon in that way, I wonder if that makes Thor pilots like Dragon pilots?

So if you like the Summoner, get the Summoner. In fact get thyself a trio of the beasts and have it. You will be surprised by what you can get out of them, considering the tone of the forums.

If they made it so you could remove at least 4 of the 5 jump jets (I can see them forcing you to keep at least one for chassis flavor) it could be a pretty good mech.

Right now it just comes up short because it wants to load a small number of heavy weapons but its just shy of the ammo or heat sinks needed, and it can't load out a pack of weapons (the saving grace of the Nova) because it has so few hardpoints.

Wait for improvements.

I apologize it came off that way.

Im a tryhard , powergamer!

I'm just not ready to give the summoner-prime stock a meta seal of a approval. Btw I got this mech last night hardly makes me a expert. I could be wrong. So maybe a very good pilot can run the stock competitively.
SUMMONER SMN-PRIME 14 9 5 1.80 8 7 1.14 2,592 8,083 01:44:58
It is a fun mech. My first heavy clanner. Currently I'm experimenting with the targeting computers and the bap and sensor range module......I want to be like a AWACS Mech.

Then I misunderstood your post, sorry about that!

It's not just you, I mean I can squeeze out some decent matches where I score 500-800, but it's not the norm.

I tried a dozen build iterations, and the only one I ever really liked was Gauss + 4 CERMLAS, taking advantage of the only thing the Summoner really has going for it, which is the high mounted ballistic torso hardpoints.

If Clan UACs weren't so mediocre, I'd run a UAC 10 there instead but I tried it and the Gauss was consistently better damage.
