Okay I have stated it a few times and I will again. This event really was a "filler" sort for us since we had been having so many and we have such a big one planned for next week.
But if these Kill a Dev ones are just frustrating we can stop doing them.
For the record a Dev has been killed about 200 times so far /shrug
The kill a Dev weekend is just fine. Sure it can be frustrating for people that do not drop against a dev, but it's not a big deal. For the most part I think people are chagrined that they can randomly dop with a dev in their matches during a regular week but when they can get free loot for it they have the bad luck of never finding one.
What people have to realize that if the devs are playing the game enough to ensure a good chance for a large number of players to drop against them, they are not working on the game. They cannot just drop every thing and binge play MWO. Frankly a Dev Hunt weekend is happening on their day off. A small number of people have to take the time, a few hours in a day, to fairly contribute. And to top it off they could be doing things with friends and family.
PGI could do a dev hunt quarterly or every six months. Just set aside a day for the staff to hang out in the office order pizza and play the game. Or at least do a dev hunt right after major content is released, and their are no hot fixes needed.
I would like to suggest putting the name of the dev on the medallion given to the player.
Edit:
As I wrote this Paul is/was grinding out match's late at night so the EU and pacific guys could have a dev to drop against. He is/was streaming on twitch.
