Wow ... 18 pages of feedback already! ... ain't nobody got time for that ...

This week marks our 1 year Anniversary! Piranha Games would like to show our extreme gratitude to all players and supporters who have put their time and money into MechWarrior Online.
- Hmm ... interesting ... cute cupcake. :)

Anniversary Weekend ... Double XP ... Double XP conversion ... and Mechbays for 50% off ... win 1 match you will earn a Cupcake Cockpit item.
- Cool, I probably have a few hundred thousand XP to convert. ;)

Active Player Reward ... more than 100 matches since September 17th 2013 ... 2,000,000 C-bills, a Mechbay, and a fun standing Cockpit item.
- Woah ... I'm pretty sure I've played more than 100 matches since September 7th 2014, and after the new weapon modules, I could use the . :P

Players with less than 100 matches still have the potential to earn this reward, as you have until Sept 23rd at 10:00 am PDT to hit the mark!
- Nice, free stuffs for everybody! :)

MechWarrior Credits Reward ... CN9-AH ... custom paint ... 30% C-bill Bonus ... Mechbay ... October 21st.
- Sweet ... free hero 'mech! ... ah, dammit not until October!
Founders packages that included MechWarrior Credits qualify for this reward.
- Nice touch. Very nice touch. ;)

Pre-Sale Reward ... purchased any pre-sale program package ... AS7-S ... custom paint job ... 30% C-bill Bonus ... free Mechbay ... October 21st.
- Another free hero 'mech? Oct 21st =/= Dec 25th? :D

Top Tier Reward ... purchased a Top Tier Package ... exclusive new King Crab Assault Mech ... custom paint job ... 30% C-bill Bonus ... free Mechbay ... December 16th.
- OMG OMG OMG ... the King Crabs are coming! ... but not until December!

As an additional thanks to all Founders, the C-bill bonus on all original Founders Mechs will be permanently raised from 25% to 30% starting September 17th.
- It's about time.

Ultimate Clan Reward ... Invasion Mad Dog Mech ...
- I've never had the same affinity as others for the Vulture, but OK ... cool (the rest of the pack looks promising).

Well this is a much bigger suprise than I expected out of Russ with all the things he's been teasing the past few days here and there in his posts. Makes me glad that mechbays are gonna be half off for a little bit, since it sounds like I'll be working on Cents in the near future based on the rewards listed.

Just checking, in case it hasn't been said yet, but I'm assuming the double xp will stack with premium?

Speaking of premium, that would be about the only thing missing at this point to celebrate an anniversary. Double exp is great for those of us with mechs and modules, but I think players new and old wouldn't mind having a c-bill boost as well for this event, to help fill that free 100 matches played bay with something really nice.

If your current stats are at 500 you definitely qualify. I think if you add the current and archived together and it is over 100 you qualify.

Alright, thanks.

On another somewhat related note, is there any sort of site for MWO like Noobmeter is for World of Tanks? A site where you can look up your stats over time and whatnot that isn't the profile page on this site?

I too have to gush- I have lost alot of faith in the company over this last year for many reasons spoken of in countless threads, but this move has single handedly restored a significant amount of goodwill as a Legendary Founder and a fan of the franchise towards PGI.

I don't know what the reason for this sudden act of awesome is, be it the departure from IGP's direct control or some other factor, but thank you. This is the sort of positive action towards supporting players that I've been waiting for, and has renewed my optimism for the future of this game and it's development. Though this alone isn't enough to restore my desire to throw money at the game, it has atleast changed my stance from "never supporting again" to "let's wait and see".

And so I hope this marks a positive change in direction for developer/supporter/forumer relations- which have been an extremely tenuous issue in the past (and even to the present). If this trend continues, it would go a long way towards making me consider encouraging friends to play this game again.

I'd like to repeat, perhaps in a more complete and answerable manner, the question about the CN9-AH. The CN9-AH did exist back in closed beta but it was removed so that it could be repainted and updated as the first experimental hero mech the Yen-Lo-Wang (after it succeeded all future hero mechs where given the same development resources as regular variants so they could be designed and balanced from the ground up).

With the CN9-AH coming back as a reward it raises some questions:
  • Will it still have the same stats/hardpoints as the current Yen-Lo-Wang, just without the C-Bill bonus?
  • If that's the case won't releasing it for C-Bills later reduce the value of the Yen-Lo-Wang, since it would no longer be an MC only hardpoint layout?
  • Is there any chance the CN9-AH will remain an 'exclusive' reward for MC backers, essentially a limited edition unique appearance variant like the (F), (P) and (I) mechs for those that backed MWO in the first year but didn't buy any of the large packages?

Thanks but that is being handled seperately in our new feedback direction so don't look at it like an either or.

This... this is the best news I've heard in a really long time.

Not sure how everything is going to pan out; but please please let us know what you decide with this, make a post in the command chair or something. Even if the decision is, "We looked at ghost heat, ECM, pulse lasers, small lasers, AC2s, etc and decided they are all fine," let us know. Just a paragraph goes a long way! The difference between, "This sucks because PGI isn't aware of it" and "I think this sucks but PGI has a different assessment" is huge.

Wow.

King Crab and my Cn9-AH both on the same announcement?!?!?! For things I have already done?????

And a special Mad Dog if I get the Man-O-War package for my Clan Acct? (Already has Masakari). Pretty freaking cool move.

Atlas, Centurion, King Crab, and Vulture - all bonuses...Yep... I think my 84 some odd mechs just got a little more abundant...I'll never get mechs to mastery at this rate...I'm over half to Elite now though.

Thank you, so much, for putting all the thought into this program. I know I'll be among the buyers of Wave 2. I feel better knowing that MWO is firmly established enough to give away premium content like this and that all the seed money I invested was not in vain!

While this appears to be nice for those that have paid, I find it odd that we must "dedicate" what amounts of ~$360 (assuming the Clan Wave 2 pack maxes out @ $120) to get a free Maddog/Vulture.

Having more mechs does not replace the lack of Community Warfare. I cannot subscribe to a sale that will still produce what we have right now.

The CN9-AH has different hardpoints than the YLW. The AH has missiles in the left torso, and no energy hardpoints. The YLW has no missile hardpoints, but two energy hardpoints in the CT. They're not the same mech, there is no conflict here.

As I recall the CN9-AH in CBT had 3 Ballistic points in the arm, 2 Missiles in the torso and NO energy hardpoints. If they go that route again it will be sufficiently different from the Wang (which has energy but no missiles) to count as its own variant.

Start by actually unnerfing all those things that you've nerfed, from DHS, Ghost heat, SRMs, HGN/VTR, JJs, GR chrage mechanic, and so on. Fix the UI 2.0 with a smurfy mechlab, demonstrate that you care about those issues.. and maybe then you'll have a pale hope to regain the founders that you've lost.

Regarding wave 2 mech selection:

F*** the Gargoyle. Seriously. It has always been a crappy Timberwolf that eats an Assault slot. Unless you guys quirk the hell out of that chassis it's going to be useless. Ditto for the Mad Dog- you're going to need a reason to take the chassis instead of a Timberwolf in the heavy slot or take a Stormcrow (which can already built to be a faster, faster-firing, cooler-running Mad Dog Prime). (Feel free to quirk the hell out of the Mad Dog chassis since it's always looked great but suffered from being in the same weight class as the Timberwolf.)

I know you guys are worried about MASC on light mechs, but you don't HAVE to enable MASC except on designs that come with MASC for the time being. So please let us have our Executioners (and eventually Shadow Cats) that won't break the netcode, and you can let the Flea and Firemoth etc alone until you've got that worked out.

Alternatively, on designs that would otherwise go too fast, if you converted the extra speed into maneuverability I'm sure it would work out just as well. The whole point of MASC on TT on mechs that are already fast is being able to make a ton of turns and still move 10 hexes.

Also, please do something about Jump Jets so that the eight tons of JJ on the Executioner is worth a damn once it gets here.

Depending on what you ask for the 2nd invasion pack, I'd find a way to pony up for a Firemoth, Viper (please include A configuration!), Hellbringer, Executioner, and bonus Mad Dog. Mist Lynx, Fenris, Hellbringer, Gargoyle, bonus Mad Dog? The only one I'm really interested in there is the Hellbringer (although we do need a Clan Light mech that isn't just batting practice for the IS speedsters), and even then only if you guys include the ECM variant (otherwise we're back to just another sub-par Timberwolf).

Whatever I think about your choices in wave 2 clan 'mech selection (I have my biases), thank you for rewarding your supporters (I'm sure the founders appreciate their mechs getting upgraded as well). About the only thing you could have done better than the King Crab (which.... let's face it, the IS probably needs to handle the Dire Wolf) would have been the Urbanmech.

Warning: With all these new assault designs running around, light mechs need some love. The % of light mechs in the queue is already usually under 10% when I'm on.

Also, Clan medium pulse lasers generate way too much heat.

Also, people are probably going to pitch a fit if there's not some serious CW around by the time the Twolf or Warhawk is available for Cbills. Stompy robots only goes so far unless you're also conquering planets.
