Quick look at the mech themselves:

The Koshi looks to be a much better Clan Light than what we have... and it has 2 ECM variants (not sure of the timeline though) but would be still slow compared to the Commando even with Speed Tweak. It might be better than the Kitfox, but we'll see.

The Fenris is a dangerous balance issue... as with speed tweak, it is like a Cicada on crack, and will chase mechs @ 140kph. That is going to be something to look at.

The Loki is what it is, and I'm not sure if it'll be good or bad, but 65 tons @ 81kph is always scary.
Edit: Stock ECM on the prime variant will make it highly desirable, given no comparing mechs on the IS side to be found at the moment.

The Man O' War may be a nightmare for balance. Considering the Victor's nerfs, the Man O' War carries a 400XL engine, which puts the cap limit to shame (unless, you have a Dragon Slayer, but then you factor in the natural torso twist nerfs). Loadouts is up in the air, but the mere tonnage consumption for a large engine can limit it a bit. Still, it would be more durable than a Victor due to XL engine superiority (to be changed and reevaluated when it finally gets a penalty for the loss of a side torso).

So very nice of you Russ to release the Vulture on my birthday. You really shouldn't have.

Now, if I can only get that pesky B-day party my family has planned that day cancelled, I'll be a very happy camper.

So legendary founders and the people that bought the highest Phonex pack don't get squat? I am not for sure what to say. What if you already put over $240 down on the rest of it and then buy the $120?

The Woman O' Peace has 20 tons of pod space after you max out the armor, which is even less than the Suckoner. It will probably be bad.

I'll wait until I see if the ship takes a new, better course after CW for giving you cash.

Better prices than the first wave, though.

Uh same prices actually. Wave 1 = 8 mechs, 3 variants a piece for a total of 24 mechs @ $240 = $10 per mech. Wave 2, 4 mechs 3 variants = 12 mechs for $120 = $10 a mech... ;)

So Russ,

Any reason why the original clan packages and the Mad dog have their real Clan names, but 4 others in this pack use their IS codenames over their real ones?

Or will they be "Mist Lynx, Ice Ferret, Hellbringer, and Gargoyle" in game?

The mad dog was my favorite mech of MW3. Is there any way for someone who has spent money on every single package (founders, phoenix, and clan (a la carte)) to buy the mad dog? That is the only mech I want and would not like to have to spend $360 for a single mech (I want the hero bonus and looks) :(

Clan Packs have the Inner Sphere names for both Wave 1 and Wave 2. Chassis themselves are named as their proper Clan Names.

So two top tiers out of the three and we get a king crab so does everyone who bought the top tier of any pack, but only the last two top tiers get the Mad Dog? Is that correct?

Wave 1 had to pay $250 to get the mad dog for free.
Wave 2 only has to pay $120 to get the mad Dog for free, Plus all clanner mech variants will be C-bill ready by CW.

Not sure what your founder tag is complaining about.

Question: will the entitlement to the Mad Dog be also valid after September 23rd (when it is released)? For instance, if I upgrade the package progressively, will I get the mech in the end after hitting the final tier?

Lovely !

Edit for more info:

Comparing the tonnage of all the Clan mechs, the Summoner and the Gargoyle have less tonage than the other heavy mechs and the Stormcrow.
But the SC only uses 10 DHS while the heavies and the Gargoyle use 12,13,14,15 and 16 DHS using up one ton more each 5ton-heavier tier.

Koshi 25t, 119kph, 6jj, 7.5t and 16 crits space
75% ff armor and endo

Fenris 45t, 129kph, 9.5t and 29 crits space
94% ff armor and endo

Stormcrow/Ryoken 94kph, 23t and 29 crits (22.5tons with full armor)
98% ff armor and endo
10DHS

Vulture 60t, 84kph, 28t and 38crits space (26tons with full armor)
81%ff armor and std internal
12DHS

Hellbringer/loki 65t, 84kph, 28.5t and 43 crits space (23tons with full armor)
but only 60% std armor and std internal
13DHS

Summoner/Thor 70t, 84kph, 22.5t and 35 crits space (20.5tons with full armor)
83% ff armor and std internal
14DHS

Timberwolf/MadCat 75t, 84kph, 27.5t and 31 crits space (27tons with full armor)
99% ff armor and endo
15DHS

Manowar/Gargoyle 80t, 84kph, 21.5t and 36crits space (19.5tons with full armor)
85% ff armor and std structure
16 DHS

Normalized to 16DHS and full armor these mechs have following free tonnages:
Stormcrow 16.5t
MadDog 22t
Hellbringer 20t
Summoner 18.5t
Timberwolf 26t
Gargoyle 19.5t

Ofc the Summoner with 5t for fixed JJs has the lowest for heavy/assault, but the SC is no longer better if you consider the same amount of DHS and the Hellbringer is very close, due to 1t ECM (which most people will try to always use) leaving it with 19t pod space fully armored.
