SO, now we know. Thoughts on choices, concerns on hit boxes, etc?

Wondering already if the Hellbringer (Loki) won't have a little issue with Dragon-itis, looking at it's CT "snout".

Oddly, really looking forward to the Gargoyle (Man-O-War). Maybe with it's light tonnage for guns they won't nerf it's agility as bad as the VTRs?

*edit

for those worrying about the Mad Dog

It WILL be available. Only the Invader geometry and 30% bonus will be unique.

Well, I've got my popcorn on hand for all the rage and despair and QQ'ing when people realise the Clans are getting an 81kph heavy with ECM on.

The QQ. Will be epic. And amusing.

THAT ASIDE. Gargoyle I suspect is DOA unless that speed can be somehow brought to bear with those 20 tons of lolpodspace... the Mist Lynx and Ice Ferrets are nice because they inject high speed into the Clan game. Might also help break up the teamwork of uncoordinated clan teams because they aren't all moving at roughly the same speed anymore.

Honestly not surprised. It's the ones from the 3050TRO that weren't in the first pack and don't have MASC.

Would have liked the Gladiator/Executioner even if the MASC was just a placeholder or MASC simply didn't let the Dasher go faster than 170kph for now.

If the Fenris is the same size as the Blackjack or Hunchback it will be a murder machine. Return of the 129kph LOLback with Clan weaponry.

Perhaps the open dialogue Russ has decide to bestow upon the community has something to do with knowing how upset some players will be with all the Hellbringers and their ECM all over the place?

Probably, yes. ECM needs to be revised badly.

Honestly, though, the Hellbringer doesn't bother me. And as long as ECM remains as it is, it gives competition to the Timberwolf for best clan heavy (poor Summoner...).

Mad Dog should be fun. The Mist Lynx and Ice Ferret are needed as well to give clans true high speed movers.

We won't know for sure what omnipods we're getting until the variants are listed in the 17th, though.

doubtful, but possible.

Honestly seems like too much stuff being done right now for me to paint it with that. People HAD to know the Hellbringer was coming. But if you refer merely to the ECM Council, then yeah, that I could see.

The new light could be better than the Kitfox given 2 possible ECM variants. It has lots more speed but still mid-medium slow (see Blackjack-1X and Vindicator-1AA).

The new medium has little tonnage, but it'll be stupid fast with a medium sized chassis. It could be a very interesting mech to be running @ 140kph (think Cicada on Crack).

The Loki is going to be a gamechanger with the current state of ECM, especially being on the Prime variant. It will make the Summoner look even worse, despite not having JJs (the Madcat is still the best clan mech overall).

The question about the Man O' War is really the tonnage left from using it all for the 400XL engine... that could potentially be a lemon (I thought it would compete with the Dragon Slayer, due to the Clan XL), so... that is my quick analysis at the moment.

My need for Clan speed has been quenched. Literally cannot wait for my Clan version of a commando (with JJ's!!!!), and not to mention my Clan verson of the TREB 3C (Ice Ferret). Gonna be fun wiping my Clan butt with the remnants of Jenners, and other IS lights.

The only thing I care about from that picture is that the Vulture has passed the Arms test. If that's the prime, and those are lasers, the terribad MW4 weapon pods have been avoided and the long barrels of the classic look have been retained in the MWO design. That's actually the best news of the day.

There's still the Legs test to be fair, but the Legs wouldn't matter if it had failed the Arms.

Anybody know what the "Faction content" is? Or is it another last minute warhorn reveal type thing?

I'm thinking, as long as it has a good set of Hardpoints, a lot of lighter weapons with a few HeatSinks would make the Gargoyle a damned fine striker.
Take one around on a Flank, send him crashing into the sides with the durability of a Victor with the speed of a Medium while your team crushes the front .. It'd be delicious.

How do you build your Summoners anyways? I haven't been able to throw together a build that works yet ._.

I'm very surprised about the Hellbringer, considering it has A-pods. Anti-infantry pods. What. Why is it in? Just because it has ECM?

The Loki with it's ECM might be the most interesting mech on the list because it's the first heavy with ECM, and it's got lots of space.

Glad to see both the Vulture and Loki on the list. I do think the Executioner (Gladiator) would have been a better choice for Assault than the Man O War though.

Clan speed in the light and medium are also probably good things.

Depending on the pod selection the Fenris looks like an interesting mech. Same speed as my Cent-D, it will be the fastest clan mech currently.

of course it would have been better to have the Executioner. But...MASC.

Also, I actually kind of look forward to tinkering with the Gargoyle, even though it is indeed probably going to be BAD, no matter what.

I'll take an Assault that moves at 81kph by default any time of day. And i'll take you on with it. Name the map and mode. I've seen Class 1 builds in the past that would work wonderfully with this mech. Its meant to be an agile assault mech with efficiency builds in mind. Not "Lawlmoreweaponsishowipubit" builds. I don't think its fair to criticise a chassis we haven't seen in-game yet.

Heheheheh :)

Though it occurs to me that PGI might offset the low pod-space somewhat with good quirks. Higher fire rate ftw?
