If I see an enemy mech barely moving and I have the time...I'm going to slowly damage every part of his armor. If he's the last one standing then he's going to have a bad time.

This, all sorts of this. It's not that I want to be a jerk and try to bankrupt everyone, but if I suspect someone is trying to macro through a fight I will do my best to make it as expensive as possible for them.

How about ye olde IP address ban. That always works. :)
But seriously, I would think you'd have to run it by a mod and be patient and hope he/she/it, (the offender), doesn't mess things up too bad before they are delt with.

Never works, If i had 5cents for everytime I was "IP Banned" off a quake server and connected 5 seconds later....I would have atleast $5.00

There will be bots and afkers it happens but hopefully the GMs will be ontop of it. ofcourse they can only do that if we report them. Also use 1 small laser to slowly tear down their armors before killing them... eat that repair bill.... ofcourse this only works if you have the time durring the battle or the afk is the last left. other than that theres not alot we as players can do... hopefully the devs have it figured out on their end.

I would have loved to participate in the BETA to try my hardest to break the game, so those issues could be addressed before launch. Just like BF3, I want to contribute!

That's what they told me in BF3, I had scripted a program during closed beta that would target and shoot players with leading targets factored in.

Also, scripted a google chrome extension to password grab on DEV only servers. I was the first un-authorized player on caspian during ALPHA BF3.

i've seen you hacking in several games as well. you're everywhere.

Fighting the good fight. I was a huge advocate for FME. But, after trying for months to get with both companies I gave up.

So, what is the call dev's? I know you can't/won't answer questions about anti-whatever methods. I'm not interested in details. I am interested in assurances. I do not plan to spend another 5 years reporting bots to have them summarily ignored. I'm also invested in this, as is every other founder. Remember, we vote with our wallets. Keep your eye on the polls.

Oh, If I see anyone doing the AFK dance on my team I'm going to message a player on the other team and let him know "Hey, kill this guy as much as you want. Free XP off him for being afk."

I would not worry. There are probably a plethora of capible testers that have already reported exactly what we don't want to see. I trust they will release the open beta with security measures and employ the range of "open" testers to hopefully recieve feedback on how/what one did to bypass "X" security system.

Let's just be patient, and hope for the best.

You can still combat that, and most good internet connections are static.

The truth is that IP address spoofing creates chaos with IP bans and there are far too many ways to hide your IP. The reverse of this is I've been banned from games before for "shared accounts" simply from connecting from another place to game.

IP based soultions aren't very good for gaming.

Pando, I've never seen a bot in a beta test. You NEVER WILL. Why alert a company in beta of your intention to invade it? Let them think they are secure, then whack the hell out of them during the ensuing chaos post launch. THIS IS NOT RELATED TO BETA... PERIOD. Asian "companies" that are little more than pirates with a corporate logo will soon be offering fully developed talent trees and all mechs trees leveled for only $59.99 or some such. The russian dating site spammer is an early indication of this, seen it before. If macros are allowed, god help us. There will be bots armies of "gold farmers" ( yes, I know c-bills cannot be traded, it is a generic industry term ) and some regular players thrown in the mix simply because they want an easier road to fast boredom on the top of the heap. That is what is coming to any new MMO, anywhere. RPG's seem to get hit the hardest and tend to have no resources devoted to combating it. They simply plan on being overwhelmed and do nothing until the players leave. That pattern is simply unacceptable here. All that has to happen is a DEV ( not Paul! ) say "We got this, no sweat man!" and I'm friggin happy.

For those people who say there is no market what about leveling services? Some people may want to pay less then ingame prices and they also get faction xp and stuff?

Let me explain:
In one of the dev blogs they said they have ranks for houses. The top ranks can decide attacks and such. Do you not think people would pay to have their accounts leveled or purchas high level accounts if this game becomes realy popular and mainstream?

So I do think that these things may exists however I do not belive that it would do to much to hurt a game. You could always just merc instead of go for a house rank.

Good points, however, there is no economy to screw up here by dumping 10k ERL's on the market in 5 minutes. That which I care about is player retention. People get tired of playing and use a bot to achieve their goals while afk. Others respond by reporting those players. If they are still there the next day doing the same thing, the notion that honest play is the slowest route to where ever you want to go will take root. When the mind wraps itself around that thought, one is faced with remaining the last honest player, follow the bad example, or leaving the game. Those are pretty unacceptable. All we have to do is aggressively target bad behavior and punish it to avoid that whole chain of events.

Metabee.. I mean I hope they have taken measurements against people that AFK or AFK while preventing getting kicked due to moving randomly with the help of a macro or other program.

The idea of having bots fight for you would be a joke. This game is about strategy. I just couldn't comprehend a bot defeating some one at this. Sure if it was 1 hit kill like bf3 or Cod. I would just assume while a lance pertaining this bot would just let it run out & get decimated by the opposing lance.

Personally i would be angry if people used bots because it destroys strategy tactics & would always weaken our attack position. Not like i could just chatt to the bot & say rendezvous at gride D5 & attack stationary from range with lrm15's. Couldn't work man.

I would shoot my own team bot players !! just for insubordination.

Some of the issues I see with bots is how will they handle terrain? Will they be smart enough not to step off the edge of a cliff? Will they be able to capable of dropping one target for another? Or retreat or advance or protect or hold their ground? These are some complex AI issues that a WoW bot doesn't have to deal with. WoW bots deal with mobs that spawn in predictable manner

This isn't saying there wont be bots. I expect to see bots but they will mostly be aim bots. BOOM! Head shot.

well what were you expecting, blockbuster titles are usually propaganda with just enough substance to fool you for maybe a week until the hype fades from lack of anticipation. Thinking any of that money actually goes into security or game features is silly, i mean look at diablo three, did they ever solve the hacking issue or are they still telling you you must buy an authenticator to avoid their really bad security holes, and I won't even begin to get into all the features they cut because I'll be here for hours explaining why blizzard is a terrible company with its customer abuse.
