This is not another one of those, "F0uNd3r's m3chs 4re uNb4lanc3d" threads. But this is one of those threads about the amount of 'mechs allowed in your 'mech bay. How are we going to keep it balanced?
What I mean is, since legendary founders are given four mechs. Those four mechs would take up the four slots given to you. What do you do then? You can't add any mechs, you could only buy weapons for the mechs. Unless the devs add the option to buy more slots (and I'm sure they will), but that forces the legendary members to pay for the extra slots with the C-Bills you bought with your hard earned cash, so you can buy your favorite mechs and expand your playing experience.
I find this to be the greediest alternative and am completely against it.
They could also give you the slots for the Founder's 'mechs AND the other four slots, but then you would have eight slots compared to the other players five and four, depending on what package (if any) they bought.
This, again, would not be fair.
Another way they could do it would be that you are able to move your Founder's mechs into storage and back out at anytime, so you could tweak your preferences.

The point is, I would just like to know how the devs would handle this situation.

Legendary founders pack buyers will have eight slots to start with, four of them taken up by the founders mechs. /thread

Reread your thread, are you arguing that people that pay more money shouldn't get more slots? Buying more mechbay slots is going to be one of the things you can spend real money on. Legendary founders spent more money=get more slots. If you're against people getting more slots for more money, you're against the F2P model they're using.

We get the 8 slot option you spoke of .... the original 4 that everyone gets and the 4 founder mech bays .... perk of shelling out the $$

umm they dont take up the four free slots. the founders have their own separate slots

They've already stated that your founder mechs will come with extra hangar spaces just for them. So Elites get 4 spaces plus 1 founder, and Legendary get 4 spaces plus 4 founder.

That's a lot of cash to drop on a free-to-play game that isn't released yet. it's gotta be worth something cool, and the mechs are part of it.

That may seem unbalanced to you, but they payed good money to unlock those slots. Anybody will be able to unlock slots for their own favorite mechs by paying for the unlock. So either way you pay to unlock any more than 4 slots. As you can dominate the game with just your 1 of your 4 starting slots, there is nothing to be unbalanced here.

Yes, I would rather not spend fifteen minutes searching for a post that's very existence was in question, only to (possibly) find out that it does not exist and I have wasted my time. So, since I had not seen anyone else get yelled at for it, I assumed "Hey, maybe they didn't address this". And Since the Founder's Pack purchasing page said nothing I also assumed the above.
Amazing how missing 30 seconds of reading gets this guy.

This isn't a freeware game. More slots will come with paying for them. It's supposed to be bonus for buying the founder's packs as you get mechs without having to give up your 1x/4x default slots - otherwise there'd be little point in buying a legendary pack.

If you want extra slots, buy a pack or buy them with CBills later on.

Don't forget the $40 to $80 worth of MechCreds we get with the packs to get other stuff, like slots, with.

Yah I agree with the post here. I find the Elite to be enough for me. I have yet to purchase it because I just got my dream job and do not need to spend money quite yet. As long as this founders option lasts for a while I will purchase it in due course. I am excited for the game, however, hope it does not scare people away. This option is a lot of money to some people. Money that could mean dinners or electricity.

Yes, but they also paid for $80 of in game creds, a place in the credits, an awesome forum tag, four C-Bill powerhouses and three months of premium.

Are you implying that I, as a Founder, could have enough slots for a near-company? Ooh, I do wish that does come to pass. I almost feel like I can form a mercenary command...all by my lonesome :)

That's the plan. Eight mech slots to start and then buy four more with in game currency. :)

Rent the other mechs out to your mercs and deduct repairs, ammo, and rental costs from their pay. :)
