I think they did a great job, wish the lasers were longer, but I think they nailed it.Posted ImageThanks to Kiiyor for linking a quick list of variants for reference.Posted Image

The lasers are a little stubby, but overall it looks as beautiful as any of Alex's other Clan remodels.

The "domes" near the tip of the nose don't look good being white on an orange mech.

Also, I predict that many Mad Doges will suffer death by legging, painfully.

I spent 6 hours reading all those well laid out thoughts of yours, and all I can say is yes, I fully agree.

I think it looks amazing, and I LOVE that Alex has made some concessions to survivability and has shrunk those ST's.

From the front, it looks surprisingly narrow. I can't wait to flank it though ;)

The only issue for me is the position of that cockpit. I know you can't put it anywhere else without making it not-mad-dog, but I like being able to shoot what I can see.

I preordered it. It has to be the best Clan model PGI has ever made, and the best ingame representation of the original TRO Mad Dog with a modern feel to it. Love how the arms are long, but not so long they are easy to hit from the side, and the fact its so slim. Plus with it having the Mad Cat's legs, it looks like the mech it is supposed to be. Love it!

At least it'll be smaller than the timberwolf

not 15 tons lighter, but definately lighter

I'm more worried I'll exceptionally vulnerable to head shots.
It is quite bulbous

As a piece of art, it looks great.

Gameplay speculation, the legs are going to need some really good hitboxes.

I expect people to complain about the Mad Dog here. I bet a small laser on it!

It's a prettier Dragon.

I've always liked the look of them.

I would prefer to have the longer barrels, I feel it looked a lot better. The legs, too, look very bulky. Like, stupid bulky. Seriously. What the hell. The thigh is thicker than the CT.

Sexy looking mech but I fear for its survivability. One of three things happening.

1 - Like the Dragon, that whole pointy area will be CT meaning it will likely be DOA.

2 - The side areas on the snout will be all Side Torso with only the narrow strip up front being CT. This is better than the whole thing being CT but your going to lose side torsos very, very fast meaning your always going to be finding yourself missing at least 50% of your weapons.

3 - Split the difference. Half CT, Half ST. Let's hope they do this because this option will likely give it the best combo of survivability while giving at least the possibility of retaining all your weapons over the course of a fight.

In any case, no way in hell I would invest $360 to get this mech. It might end up decent but I can't see it really being good.

Again, amazing looking mech though.

I love the stubby lasers. Always hated the barreled lasers. Laser weapons would not look like they have long barrels, they're stubby things with big lens.
I would them to be place under-over like the Timber Wolf's, or MW4's Vulture's, though. Ah, well it is better than i feared it might be.

The legs seem to be the same the Timber Wolf has, as it should be. In the canon, the Mad Dog was made as a response and an insult toward the Timber Wolf, and it used same moulds for the leg assembly.

Overall i like it a lot.

All in all I like the design, but the stubby arms of the second image are pretty terrible. The longer barrels in the first image at least give the impression of the classic design, but the vulture in the second image just looks like it's had its wings clipped. Seeing as the final design is probably more like the second image I am becoming more and more disappointed with how this is all turning out...

Unfortunately, this mech will never be DoA, despite what people are saying.. Sure its legs look a bit bulky but we have no idea how the actual ingame model will look like from a simple screen. Plus, its the A1 Splat on steroids... 6 SRM6s with art and 4 ERMlas. It will be a force to be scared of. Plus its missile capabilities... I am terrified of this thing.
