Example (mine): When the clans went on sale, I did not have the funds to purchase the War Hawk (Masakari) pack, but I wanted all the mechs. (In particular I wanted the Dire Wolf and Timber Wolf)
So, lacking the $240 to put into the Masakari Pack, I went A Le Carte and got the DWF and TBR together (100$) then a few weeks later as I got a little more money, I picked up the SCR for $55. (They could not work with me at the time to get the SCR for $45 as on top of the $100 for whatever reason...I think I can squarely blame IGP for that, since they were in charge of Marketing.) Moving on. Later, as finances allowed again, I purchased the Kitfox Package. (30 in stead of 55, duh) and then later again, I upgraded to the Nova Package.
So for 100+55+30+30 I have 5 mechs. This stings a little, but does not bother me much in and of itself, but now- in Oct, my finances will improve significantly and I will be able to afford to get the remainder of the (I)nvasion mechs and probably the full Wave 2. This is where the rub lies.
In order to upgrade to the Masakari pack, I have to upgrade $180, even though I already own the (I) SCR, TBR, and DWF. (Going to be quite hard to justify to myself, and even more-so to my wife, spending 180 dollars on top of the $215 I have already spent on the first 5 mechs, to gain 3 new mechs, and 3 copies of what I already have.)
There needs to be some interplay between the A Le Carte option, and the packages.
An option of how I think it could be done, with a very simple change.
If you buy a mech Al Le Cart (and in this case, that is/was $55) that price is greyed out on the package list and the overall price reduced to reflect it. Greyed out meaning that while you do not have that package, (because it includes all of the mechs beneath it), if you were to purchase a package, it would:
Not include the cost of upgrading to or through that mech.
Example1: If I purchased the Nova (Black Hawk) A Le Carte, and then later decided I wanted to get the Dire Wolf (Daishi) Package, the Nova Price would be greyed out, and the Price of the Dire Wolf pack would be reduced to $90.
Example 2: If I bought the War Hawk (Masakari) A Le Carte, the price on the Masakari package would be greyed out, and instead would cost $210 if I were to "purchase" it.
---------------------------------------------
Now, i recognize that $30 =/= $55, but one must also consider that some of the packages (especially the higher ones) come with extra things like, in this case; Warhorns, Premium time, etc... The player would lose out on $25 bucks in the difference, but that would be the price to pay for having the mech before you purchased the pack, and gaining the goodies that come with that level of the pack.
This would be a win for the players (not buying the same mech twice) and a win for PGI (someone paying $40-55 for a $30 mech of the pack.)

Thoughts?
And yes, I e-mailed support (2 days ago), no response yet.

Nevermind: This is already being looked into. (Thank you DEMAX)
