Hi,
when I launch with my corp friends in small groups of 2 - 4 elements the MM waiting is really huge. I think because you don't admit SOLO players in groups queue, without unity I can understand this wait to build a 12 elements team.
I propose a check in Settings Panel: "In SOLO agree to be included also in the groups queue". In this way we can have unity elements to speed up MM algorithms.
Best Regards.

What weight classes are you bringing? It can be hard to fit an odd number of mechs from a small group into a larger group, especially if for example your group of 4 contains 3 Heavies and something else it will be looking for a group of 8 who are missing exactly that composition of mechs
It's also a long wait time if you play in a large group but leave weird gaps, a 9-man group that leaves 2 lights and 1 assault slot will spend a lot time looking for a group of 3 containing exactly 2 light/1 assailt
Time of day/peak activity also plays a part.
Allowing solo queu players to op-in to the group queue is not a bad idea, although they'd have to run the data first to see if actually reduces wait time or not.

To expand on Redshift's comments, if you scroll over the play now button and try to match your group to the less played classes, you'll find matches pretty quick. A light/medium pack can find games within a minute during NA prime time.

This thread isn't a complaint about huge waiting times (...without unity I can understand this wait to build a 12 elements team....), is a suggestion to how solve.

/sign Opt-in to group queue while Solo dropping.
Needs to be an easily accessible toggle, like the game modes, because some times I solo drop because I want to live test some builds and not subject my group mates to the failed experiments.

The solution is to make sure your 'mechs are not all Heavies or Assaults. One of each weight class will find a match faster. Mostly Lights and mostly Mediums will also find a match faster. A team of all (or mostly) Heavies or Assaults takes the longest time.
