Looking at the picture of the Mad Dog last night I could not help be be reminded of another mech.. The Infamous Dragon and the "love" people have for its center torso.
Now don't get me wrong I knew all about the hate but as one of the first trial mechs I played with had a soft spot for it. I learned to enjoy my Dragons actually quite a bit and own the Fang and Flame still after mastering it. Found it to be fun but quirky mech torso twisting is life.
But seeing all the love people seem to have for mad dog I am getting a feeling people are in for a pit fall.
While Mad Dog seems to have some good hardpoints, which was always a limitation of Dragons. And of course omnipods makes it even more useful. That giant jutting torso and weedy thin arms leads me to think were going to have alot of very annoyed players with shelved Mad Dogs
What your thoughts? Think PGI will find a way to make that design more user friendly or keep it as is it appears...

Keep it as it appears - it'll be fast, hit like a train and make a decent striker/ambusher in the close role and a foreboding long-range support mech otherwise. It's not a slugger like the Timberwolf - don't expect it to be.
Despite the Dragon's gigantic nose being a disadvantage, it just takes a different playstyle to use effectively. I've known several excellent Dragon pilots, and they're all a certain kind of crazy. I suspect the Mad Dog will be no different.

Well, the difference are some extra E hardpoints with a crazy amount of M hardpoints, unlike the dragon, the Mad Dog will have punch. And so hit and run works a lot better on the MDD.

This is quite possibly the most truth. The Dragon does have some firepower, but it will not come close to matching what the Vulture will be able to put down range. Or even up close for that matter.
I run 4 Dragons, so I am that special kind of crazy, and if you can work a Dragon, you can work this mech well enough.

Not sure how this can be compared to the Dragon.

That CLRM5 build hasn't enough ammo.
Drop the Medium to Small Pulses.
Drop the extra heatsinks.
Add a CLAP and TC1 in the CT.
Bring ammo up to around the 14T mark.
Lock target, LRM5MG them to oblivion.
