This would bring it inline with the other packs spending requirements, as you said in your OP. As it stands, the feeling with those I have personally spoken with is that people who spent money on the first clan pack feel that they have been half-valued as a customer, compared to those who bough a top founder/phoenix or new clan pack, in terms of the amount of money they have spent vs King Crab thank-you.
For myself, I put down $60 on Founders Elite, and $120 on a Daishi pack, totaling $180, but won't currently get a King Crab. Had I bought an Overlord pack instead of the Daishi, PGI would have gotten $40 less from me, but would have given me a King Crab as a thank you. That seems backwards to me.
As a customer appreciation gift, the reward should require the same rough contribution and not have one at 2x (vs founders) or 3x (vs phoenix) price requirement. I think that would go a long way to help smooth ruffled feathers, and re-embrace the current spirit of giving in PGI.

They spent more than Overlord, $90 vs $80.
That's what I'm talking about. For customer appreciation, going by a label and not by value spent leaves people who gave you more money with fewer rewards.
