Thank you Russ, for being reasonable-it gives me much confidence! I'm loving the new level of responsiveness to the community! +1
As I said before, you could do a pack with variants that have not been released yet....like the HBK 4N etc. I did suggest a few times tying them in with the Sarah's Jenner-I'd LOVE to own that mech and I'd also love it if some of the proceeds could go to that same charity.
I'm sure there is a light, a medium, a heavy and an assault variant that have not been done yet that you could offer up in SJ style paint schemes, say donate half of each pack's proceeds to that charity...?
That way you would not have to come up with any new art assets, Is guys could get what they want, the other people (cough) could keep their "special" status, a charity would get some money and you'd get a huge wave of positive PR. I can't see a loss in this situation!
Can you?

Pull off something like that and my $80 I'd practically throw at you:)

As for what mechs, if it were new mechs even with an early new year release date I'd drop the money and be happy to wait (get a king crab to tide me over at least), but I'd be quite happy with a "Faction pack" of IS mechs that already exist with packaged camos and colours, maybe a new variant or two if possible, some bonus c bill mechs. That'd be a lot less work and still be a good reason to drop real cash for me (as long as they were decent mechs)

I think after CW is up and running and a clan invasion is happening in game, an IS reinforcement pack could work well for all.
But more maps would be certainly welcomed...

I'd support this as long as it did not interfere with CW
Then again I know this would somehow be unacceptable to the "I want it now" crowd
If this new package was released after the MC/cbill release would it still have the same backing?

If it includes an Urbie, I can wait another year!

Would the new package contain a Marauder? I might be down for that.

Releasing packages too often would make customers like myself to pass on that... Too many mechs too fast is just too much. I already have highest tier package (or two) but would still like to support MWO with bigger amount. But not that often... IMHO releasing a high tier package now would be kind of arrogant. Especially if there are mechs I'd love to see ingame asap (like Marauder, Archer)

I'd say missing out on those high tier packages was their choice at the time and well... sorry to say, but too bad

While I understand what you're saying - i think (like most other mmo's) that a pack for both factions should be released at the same time.

for me it depends on the mechs and "visualization changes".

I don't like things that make it easier to hit my mechs or harder for me to see (phoenix locust)

+1 for communicating with your customers.

Ooooh. I would be totally for this. Since, I don't want a Man'O'war pack (even tho I do love the Gargoyle) and I only care for the Direwolf and Timberwolf when it comes to Clan mechs, I wouldn't prefer to buy an IS collection... Having said that, I think it should be equal to at least the Clan 2 top tier price. A $40 difference is a healthy discount. This is a great idea though. How far into the next year a delay is also kinda unfun. It's getting quite a late start (when/if it does start moving into production).

Would this also put an extension on the King Crab bonus eligibility?

Sell a gold Urbanmech package for $80.

Just... make sure you have a fire extinguisher near the servers that handle the orders.

i'd be down with another $80 IS mech pack :D (as long as CW/map work isn't impacted by it, which it doesn't sound like it would be)

Here is my take on this subject being heavily discussed. In case your unaware the summary is that we have plenty of IS loyalists who either missed the chance or chose not to buy a Legendary founders or Phoenix overlord package. Now to qualify for the King Crab their only remaining option is to buy either a Masakari or Man O War package. But of course they are IS loyalists so this option is understandably not much of an option at all.

Here are a few hard stops as I see it:

Although there were many ways we could have gone about the Customer appreciation program and the criteria we set for each of the various rewards. The fact is we launched it under the requirements that we did and many people have already made significant buying decisions based on that information so I don't think it would be fair to adjust that criteria at this point.

Next on to the Foundes and Phoenix programs, I have read the threads and although there is some support in both cases there is also I believe enough players that are against the prospect that it would be unfair of Piranha to bring those programs back.

Trust me bringing back the Founders or Phoenix program would be by far the easiest option for Piranha to provide, however I don't feel we have the complete support we would need to do so. Which means that IF we were to provide a new IS package it would need to be a NEW program.

If we look at the price points of the four qualifying packages they go from 120, 80, 240 and 120. Therefore the lowest price point was the Phoenix Overlord package and with that in mind I think any new program would at least need to match the 80$ package level. Also Piranha has never charged for one of these programs at these dollar amounts unless the value of the packages were high and the biggest part of that value was in the fact the chassis were all new.

So I think if we were to offer a package for IS players to get in order to qualify for the King Crab I think it would need to be a new 80$ package with new IS chassis.

I want to hear your thoughts now on this, because it takes significant resources to develop one of these packages and we would need to have some idea on what the support level would be, how many would be interested?

This makes me happy to hear Russ. Now as to ideas on it? I fully support it, but in the end I do not want to see community warfare and other issues fall to the wayside while this is done. I would like to see this put out first of the new year, once we have CW and the bugs worked out of it, unless you plan on taking the next few `Mechs that were ready to go and package them (I think the Flea, Mauler and I can't remember the other few).

We badly need the UI fixed up from its current click fest (it shouldn't take me a bazillion (Borderlands FTW!) clicks to get a `Mech skilled up. Community Warfare has been long over due and has to get out ASAP, especially now with how much you have been hyping it up and saying "this time it really is soon".

New packages would be the way to go. As stated, could care less about restarting the PHX pack.

But the Founders? How can one be a Founder, if they did not help Found the game?

But new or similar packages? Hey, I'm fine with that, might even be something I end up wanting.

When you say "new" as in made up of unreleased IS Mechs? I would totally be for that. (even more so if you called HG first. ;) )

For me personally I'd rather the resources go to other things the game needs a bit more than mechs at this point, even if said other things don't generate PGI money. We sorely sorely need more maps and CW making progress really needs to be a priority right now imo.

Can you just make the reward King Crab a unique Hero variant and put it up for sale in December? That way those that want the special edition can buy it for MC, and those of us who bought previous top-tier packages get a free Hero. Seems like the simplest answer.

Although, I'd still love another IS pack for around $80 but definitely willing to wait. Take the necessary time to flesh out the mech designs and produce some awesome artwork. The last thing I want are some cookie-cutter designs rushed out the door to make a deadline.

I'm glad you chose not to open founders to everyone. I wonder if people would be fine with a founders and phoenix upgrade promotion that would allow original members of those programs to upgrade their tier.

A new IS mech pack would be sweet tho.
