If you are any type of founder, you should be getting a King Crab.

lolno
You're getting a reward, just not the one you want.
Sit there and pout.

All Founders should be getting a King Crab, not just the top tier pack. BECAUSE FOUNDER TAG

Give me a reason to come back to this game because I left it a year ago still no CW yet. Unless I missed the CW patch.

It`s just hilarious that all this rage is all about not geting a KING crab for free, because almost everyone that has spent money probably qualifies for everythign else.

It`s a mech for people that spend like kings, it says so in the name. So open your wallet, or get over it :P

I would like to see an $80 pack with some really interesting mechs to help battle the clans. With the right mechs and extras I would probably get it.

Thanks for asking.

Sorry man, but we got what we paid for. When the founders packs went on sale, it was very clear what was contained in what pack, and PGI is under no obligation to add anything else at a later date. The King Crab (and all the other free stuff) they are giving away is simple a gift they have chosen to give to players that have supported the game by buying a top tier pack of one type or another. Its the same for anyone who bought a top end Phoenix or Clan pack, with the exception that the Clan one is still on sale. When I gave them my money, I new I was only getting 4 mechs and some premium time, there was nothing there stating that down the road I was entitled to any other mechs that were released later. Its very much like rewards offered to the winners of the tourneys and events they've run, the players/customers that performed the best getting something above what the other players got. It would be wrong to give everyone the first place prize if they didn't earn it.

Gl with that being that there will apparently never be free mechs again, just packs according to the last town hall

I don't recall him saying that... just that Packs were a good way to monetize for which I agree. That doesn't exclude the possibility of free mechs.

Only hero mechs are not free. Everything so far that they've released in packs, excluding original founders, are free mechs. You just don't get them right away.

Because, as clearly stated and obviously not read, the clan packs are still for sale normally.

This is about the only valid point in all of ... whatever that was. Everything else was just pulling it...hard. Really, because you happen to have more money than me, you're better than me? Ok, then. As for the point, well, they're not putting it on for general sale where everyone can buy it, it's an upgrade, which is slightly different. They said that the packages were on sale for a limited time, but I'm pretty sure there was nothing in there about people that purchased during that limited time frame of being able to upgrade those packages later.

Breach of contract? Riiiiiight. I'm pretty sure there was no contract signed anywhere, at least I didn't sign my name to anything, pretty sure there was no counter-signatory on IGP/PGI's side either. Yeah, I know I'm splitting hairs, but when we're talking metaphorical contracts, you might as well try to wiggle through on the fine print. I'm pretty sure that if someone went through with a fine enough comb they'd find a way to make it work...regardless of the size of your...wallets.

I cant see them bringing back founders without a huge riot lol

It would invalidate the point of the founders program

Theyre not free when they first come out. There USED to be monthly mechs that you didnt ever HAVE to pay for with real money

Sorry that I didnt clarify for the new ppl (thats not meant to be demeaning towards said new ppl, Im assuming youre new if you didnt know they used to do this and thats what I was talking about)

Every new mech since the Highlander has been released for MC, or as part of a pack, before it was released for cbills. There hasn't been a "free" monthly mech since closed beta ended.

But there was in CB. There used to be.

That was my point. And when asked if that would ever return, the answer was likely no as there will only be packs from here on out, which is what I said

Where was I wrong again?

The Clan Wave 2 top tier is a little overpriced considering the Gargoyle isn't strictly superior to any Inner Sphere assaults. The reason the clan mechs were priced higher was because of their systems being more advanced omnipods and such.

With locked standard structure that makes no sense in the same universe that an Atlas and a Dragon can upgrade to Endo steel, very limited pod space, being forced to take 6 tons of heatsinks even for low heat builds, not being able to upgrade the armor or change the engine, trying to tell us this Mech is worth as much as an a la carte Timberwolf that by default has more weapons and more armor, and better speed, (when you take heavy vs assault handling into consideration) is downright silly...

It's a paywall to get to the King Crab. And a pretty clever one, considering how many people are excited about the new Inner Sphere 100-tonner!

I'm still buying it, 4 clan faction packs with colors and fun stuff I can use on any mech is a pretty good buy, and the King Crab was the deciding factor. The Gargoyle itself has an eye catching design even if the specs aren't up to par, I'll probably use a Laser build, and one other with a single autocannon.

If they can pump out an Inner Spheremech pack with a top tier before Dec 16, that will qualify. People just need to vote for the Grasshopper, its obviously the one they've already been working on. If they have to go with the Black Knight, it won't be out in time for 12/16. Though since it is a preorder, maybe they'll throw it up a few days before as a December surprise. But then there's the risk people will want a Clan Wave refund so they can buy the Inner Sphere pack on account of how crappy the Gargoyle (relatively) is.

Why would you even ask?

It was made perfectly clear before Closed Beta ended that MC first and then Cbills 2 weeks later was going to be the standard release pattern for new mech chassis going forward. To act like "free" mechs were ever somehow the norm rather an exception is a gross misrepresentation.

Those "free" monthly mechs were a perk offered to founders (and other CB invitees) for putting up with a game that had only 2 maps 1 mode and where have the items in the mechlab didn't do anything.

ETA:
Asking if that would ever return is kind of like asking if we' are ever going to see the old front-end again.

saying that it never was the norm, when at one time it WAS the norm is a gross misrepresentation.

And I wasnt the one that asked the question in the town hall.

You should listen to it
