So far we have extra range and cool down now. how about extra ammo, going by 10% increments.

No offense , but I think that's a really bad idea.
At the numbers you've suggested that would be 50% extra ammo at tier 5, so a player could effectively remove half of the ammo in his or her 'Mech for more heatsinks or backup weapons, which would be a MASSIVE buff for ammo-dependent 'Mechs. Those 'Mechs would also be at significantly reduced risk of ammo explosions.
Even at a lower percentage I still feel it wouldn't be a good idea.

I don't really like the idea, it breaks the balance of more guns/less ammo or even on some 'mechs where adding more than one weapon means very little ammo.
Range and cooldown are ok because they aren't that huge compared to the difference of aiming and ammo.
Also it would really make ballistic weapons a completely better choice over energy as you get now less heat and a ton of ammo.
