don´t forget, that another 90ton mech ( the mauler ) has already been confirmed

Love to see the source for that, since it doesn't meet the requirements that PGI put in place for mechs...

You know that 3 variants that are time line correct... so they have to have been in the field by 3049...

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Mauler

As we can see the:

MAL-1R is okay

MAL-1K is out due to snub-nose PPC (3067 for those)

MAL-1PT5 would be okay.

MAL-2R is out till the IS have ER-MLAS and C3 slave units (3058 for the ER-MLas)

MAL-C is out till they have C3 slaves (So late 3050 early 3051)

On a related note they could use the prototype version of the mech the:

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Daboku

But that only gives 2 versions that they could use, not enough to meet their own requirements, and 3 if they use the Daboku.

Assuming that the Cyclops would be good or that the Zeus wouldn't be good.

be hard to screw up the Cyclops.

And no, that is assuming the Zeus IS good. The VTR is half the mech it used to be, and the less said about Awesomes, the better.

But I love running Awesomes down in my Warhawk Prime, to show them how to energy boat right!

Oh, I misinterpreted the part about 80 tonners. Whoopsidoodles. But then again, I could argue that 1.5 good 80 tonners would be better than the current 0.5 good 80 tonners. :P

As for the Cyclops, that depends on how the Pinwheel of PGI Balance™ turns. They work in mysterious ways....I'll admit that the Clops would probably beat the Highlander at least, although that's in part due to the Lander being nerfhammered six ways to Sunday (the bigger engine helps too, especially if it turned out to be XL friendly)...

Zues. Especialy, if you add the variant that has a new weapon we don't have yet (The Blazer).

THIS.

Lots of players never even log on to the forums, period, for any number of reasons good, bad, or in between.

Maybe reward 500 C-Bills for a vote or something. Dunno.

That's one of the main reasons I chose the ZEU (that and probably having better agility than Victors). Even if the mech itself didn't turn out good, we *might* get a new toy that can spice up our rather boring IS arsenal (assuming PGI would be merciful enough to give us the ZEU-6Y variant).

I m really curious to see how the art team will handle the Cyclop, i expect them to nail it pretty much like most of the mechs so far ( the Batt;emaster looks too much like the Templar but still beautiful). So it gets my vote for this reason, never been a an of the Zeus anyways and the charger would have been fun but not a solid contender.

If i could sneak in my grain of salt i would propose the Fafnir :D

Cyclops just because a fast 90 tonner would be cool. It should definitely have hardpoint inflation on the ballistic and missiles, and even energys though IMO otherwise it would be on the weak side.

Kudos if the hero variant has JJs

IDK why, but always have.

That's because Lyrans feel comfortable with the name. After all, as any Draconian knows a Lyran is just a belligerent, warmongering thug with money. Is it any wonder the Draconis Combine feels a need to defend itself from unwarranted aggression with neighbors such as these. :D

Oh, and I voted Cyclops despite the Charger possibly leading to the Hatamoto down the line because I really wanna see an Alex Iglesias take on the mech. :)

like 4000 views but only 500 votes, why is that? some prefer not to give their opinion as public?

The reason in my case for not voting is because I think that these are the only 3 options we'll see for the next assault. As a whole we want a mech that isn't the same as the other mechs with the same boring layouts or this reason we need 3 variants of any one mech, you PGI need 3 variants so you can sell. We the community want what we want and not a poll that we feel is skewed. The Devestator, Annhilator, Mauler etc are mechs we want to vote on. The 90 ton range isn't viable cause we cann do better with an atlas or a stalker. We know you fear the ballistics, release the fury mitch, release the fury. All mechs are not created equal. This whole trying to balance everything has bored us. An atlas should be able to overpower anything one on one, the way it is now, its the same old dredge each mech release. The crab changes this of course, but stop giving us the same builds. Stop doing a poll that only ask's for 3 mechs, I don't care about those. you'll release it and I won't even think about purchasing it. Put all the assualts you could dream to use in the current state of the sphere then ask for a vote. Please and thank you.

I'm really surprised the voting is this close. I thought the Zeus would dominate.

Since the Cyclops appears to be winning the race (much to my dismay), I might as well speculate hardpoints:

CP-10-Z
LA: 1E
LT: 1M
CT: 1M
RT: 3B
RA: 1E

CP-10-Q
LA: 1E
LT: 2M
CT: 1M
RT: 1M, 1E
RA: 1E

CP-11-A
LA: 2E
LT: 1M
CT: 1M
RT: 1B
RA: 2E

*Assuming 7 hardpoints per variant. All of them would have a max engine limit of 400, which could be nice if the mech was XL-friendly.

By a margin smaller than the Presidential election circa-2000. If anything I say let's get BOTH! :D
