I have an FX-8350 with a GTX760 4GB video card and my gameplay is just fine. I don't know why Intel guys always have to justify spending more money than me. I regularly own guys running Intel CPUs.

False.

Empirical data stands firmly against your claims.

Ummm, no, quite true, besides, my gaming pleasure does not rely on graphs, etc. I get what I get and I am happy with what performance I see. Even Star Citizen runs really well on my rig.

852 points of damage in an HBK-4G(F) on my AMD rig using a Joystick and keypad. Top score in many games.

Given the minimal price difference between a top end i5 and 8350, which drops to nothing if you plan to OC since the FX chip requires a way beefier cooling setup and PSU, "Intel guys" don't spend more than you. If there's no plan to OC then "Intel guys" still don't, because cheaper non-OCing i5s are no more than 8350s.

I don't care if you're subjectively happy with your performance; Intel chips objectively run better, while consuming far less power and putting out far less heat as fringe benefits.

I am sorry, allow me to refine my objection.

That is my objection.

The point of this thread is to show that the game is playable, and also to gauge where the performance is most impacted.

You're objecting to him claiming that he owns players who run Intel tech? I took it to mean that he bested them in the game, not necessarily in FPS. Am I misinterpreting?

Most of the time, such a statement, made in a tech forum, would be in referral to beating them in hardware performance.

I am sure that he is able to own players, regardless of hardware at the game itself.

I also took what he meant and given that he said he often gets top score in many matches and his rig that runs a FX-8350 at its heart, and that many claim is a "poor" performer in "tech land" allows him to pawn many players in combat that are running these Higher end Intel rigs that in some posters opinion give them the Edge over the the players with the gimped Amd rigs. However, I am guessing that it gives them about as much advantage as a player who purchased a "gold clan mech", depending who you ask, some just might believe it does as well. ;)

I had an Interesting run on Viridian Bog.

Overclocked to 4935mhz for the CPU / 2730 HT / 2310 NB

Avg 60fps, Very High Settings, 1080p with a frame rate limit of 70

That's simultaneously encouraging and discouraging: encouraging because it shows that my 8350's performance is relatively normal, discouraging because you're having results similar to mine even though your CPU and motherboard are running laps around mine in terms of clockspeed.

<60 FPS in a shooter just ain't right.

Maybe an off topic question but a lot of tech heads in here, but if my current CPU is an intel q9650 @3ghz would I see that much of a performance gain in MWO by upgrading to a new i5 or i7 processor or is this game more GPU reliant?

Yes - Huge upgrade.

I have the Q9550 and OC to 4 ghz, and have ran it with my 7970 3gb and it still puts out decent numbers in this game. However, upgrading to a I5/I7 would be well worth it and a very nice bump in performance. The Q9650 is still a nice CPU, but it is getting a little long in the tooth for this game. Worse case if you don't want to upgrade right now, you could over clock it with proper cooling and see a nice bump that way also, but not as much as going with the I5/I7's.

A haswell i5 should be twice as fast as a core 2 quad.
