I want to know. If i purchase the 60$ Fenris collection or the 30$ Koshi colletion before sept. 23 (tomorrow) does the value of all of the rewards i'll get make sense? would any of you say that these two collections are really worth the money? if so, which one more so? The Ice-ferret seems like a great 45 tonner....

I guess I'm trying to pre-eliminate any buyers remorse I might I have. I have already spent 100$ on this game...which is way too much for one game to me, but I do like to support companies like PGI.

Your thoughts?

Personally, I doubt that the Mist Lynx will be that great. It will basically be a slower Commando with little weaponry. Great for support, but the Jenner and Firestarter will eat it alive, no problem. The Iceferret shows promise with the right Omnipods (why no D variant, PGI?), able to keep up with the Inner Sphere lights (finally!), but again, it sacrifices weapons space.

If you feel like you've already spent too much on one game, then the answer is probably no - but I'm not sure that anyone but you is really qualified to answer that.

In terms of "Meta-Compliance:"

The Ice Hamster will probably be like an IS light on steroids. It's main weakness is that it will compete against the Doomcrow for a medium class slot...Doomcrow wins easily due to superior firepower and plenty of speed for its class.

The Meth Lynx will probably get the "worst of both worlds" between IS lights and current Clan lights (not fast enough to keep up with the IS, less pod space for fire support than the current slow Clan lights). But to be fair, it's very unlikely to be as bad as Lolcusts or Commandos no matter how it ends up.

For me, I purchased the Loki/Hellbringer package as the Loki and Fenris were the mechs I really liked from the package, and the Koshi is a tag-along that I am interested to see how it plays out.

I think there is a lot of value in the Fenris package, in part because the Fenris will be the fast Clan mech on the field, and while not matching the very top end of IS speeds, really close and with more firepower than anything the IS can field at those speeds.

As for the rewards? 30 days of premium time has a pretty good dollar value to it, might help you rationalize the expenditure better.

Right. The 30 days premium time, and all of the other rewards (free stein YES) and the AS7-S with the hero c-bill bonus will be a great value. I think my buck stops at 60 though. 90 is a bit much.

6.5 and 9 tons of pod space.

PGI seems to have ignored good Omnipods for the Fenris, which may or may not be available in a similar fashion to the Cute Fox C arm.
As it stands, hardpoint and tonnage deprived.

It may be useful to compare Koshi to a stock Jenner; it has similar loadout options with the same speed and mobility. It can have ECM, but it can't do much more with it than an ECM Spider can.

Fenris is basically a Cicada or Locust - fast but doesn't have a lot of room for weapons. Basically if you take the "theories" of using non-ECM Cicada and apply them, the Ferret should have potential.

Loki is versatile with lots of different hardpoints, hampered only by using standard/standard and fairly light armour. As the only ECM heavy, and having the look (and stock Prime loadout) to trigger Warhammer nostalgia, the Hellbie is likely to be popular. 28.5 pod tons (the Prime has two tons less because the TT's A-Pods were swapped out for more armour) is pretty solid.

Man o' War is the Clan Awesome. Too fast for its own good, it's only got 21.5 pod-tons without shaving armour. It's also not especially versatile; each arm can do a ballistic + missile using the Prime pods, but everything else screams energy boat.

Vulture has a single ballistic option (the LB-5X on the A's left arm,) but really, the thing's iconically a missile/energy 'Mech - a Clan Archer, if you will. 28 pod-tons can bring some pretty evil options on that front, including the (disclaimer, not recommended) LRM-90, or the SRM-36 (which the A is stock...)

Custom Jenners are a lot faster though.

The Loki has the same armor as all 65 tonners in MWO (and 23.5 tons of pod space after you nearly max the armor).

Actually, 21.5 tons of pod space is shaved armor, less armor than a Mad Cat to be exact. With roughly max armor, you only get 20 tons of pod space.

When you max the armor (which everyone should be doing, to not die) you get 26 tons to play with. Still quite workable.

The Fenris collection is the only of the two that makes sense. You get the fasted clan mech, which is guaranteed to be viable, plus you get the potential of the Myst Lynx not being bad. Only buying the Koshi alone means you may end up disappointed.

Well I love the clan lights, so a slightly smaller and faster one + a fast medium were easy for me. The free perks are great. Who does not want an ECM heavy? The gargole is hit or miss based on you, but I like this package.

I don't see the ML holding up. If it sticks with the main body to provide ECM its extra speed is effectively wasted and you'd be better off with a KF. If you strike out on your own you are slower and thus likely less maneuverable than a typical IS light and you can't carry as much weaponry so you won't likely win that fight.

You can go the ECM 2x ERLL sniper route but again you'd be better off with a KF (for Clan) and a Raven for IS.
