Hello! As you can see I'm not a noobie but I would like to know what exactly I should do here.

For starters I have the Storm package. Problem is I currently only have the phoenix mechs, nothing else. On top of that when I bought the package I was a MAJOR noob and sold all the extra chassis. So I have a Phoenix locust and Phoenix Shadowhawk, both currently gutted, no engine, weapons, nothing. At the time of this post I have 1,539,612 C-bills. I am getting the 2Mill tomorrow.

My question for any Vet reading this is. What do I do now? :)

That.... is a very good question.

I would probably start grinding with the (C) trial mechs, as you probably do not want to lose the (P) mechs you have.
On the plus side, once you get those two outfitted again, those are reasonably good chassis (especially the Shadowhawk) and both give you a 30% cbill earnings boost.

But I also tend to not think as much of grinding as a lot of others do.

Be interesting to see what the others say.

If you need C-bills to buy mechs with, and have no functional mechs currently (if I'm reading your post correctly), I'd suggest playing some matches in the trainer mechs to earn up some money first?

Yep, what Shar said...

heya Shar,

Why not start with like the (P) Shadow Hawk this way the grinding goes easier?

Auxian,
I would use the Shadow Hawk and spend a bit of the money you have saved to get it out fitted, as to load out for it I have no idea. I sucked badly.....well really badly......ok i was playing like a n00b in my Phoenix Shadow Hawk so I can not offer any suggestions as to load outs, but there should be lots in the http://mwomercs.com/...um-mech-builds/ forum if not ask :).

You could play the Trial Shadow Hawk to earn some more C-bills. and also to test that build and see if it works for you, then outfit your current Shadow Hawk based off of what you learn from the experience, either modeled off the Trial version, or deviating from it.

If you just need enough to trick out the Shadow Hawk for starters (definitely the one I'd start with , since Locusts are hard ;) ), that's not as tough. And from there you can then buy more Shadow Hawks to boost your skill levels in them to Elite and Master.

Once you have Shadow Hawks down, you're in a much better spot to start branching out.

And definitely use Smurfy's mechlab to test loads before you click "Save" on those builds, so you can be sure you have something you like before you spend the money.

Follow the link here, http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab

He did say he had the two, but stripped to nothing, so I figured he didn't have the parts to make them run.

Do you have any of the parts still from them? Like engine, weapons, etc?

And let us know if you need any help navigating Smurfy. It's a truly useful tool to mech building in this game.

Your two best options are to play with the Shadowhawk as soon as you can - I recommend an AC build; try to engage alongside an assault, only exposing yourself to one enemy if you can help it - and to buy a champion 'mech (preferably one on sale) and sell it for C-bills. This is in nearly all cases superior to buying the actual C-bill packages. It will cost money, but at this point the money you'd spend is probably worth less than the time it would take you to grind up c-bi -

Wait, wait. How could you possibly have sold all your non-Phoenix 'mechs and only have 1.5mill C-bills? What happened to your Cadet bonus, and the proceeds from selling all that stuff?

If I'm honest, I don't remeber. I just returned from a few months of a break from this grindfest fun game :P

And yeah, nothing, at all. :/ Screwed myself over eh?

Experimentation?

lol fair enough. Then you are stuck with grinding away with the Trial `Mechs, unless you want to buy some MC and get a Hero `Mech of some sort and a bit of premium time. That combination alone will help you greatly with getting C-Bills to kit out your SDH-2H (not going to touch the lolcust with this post ha).

Ah, true, but the phoenix shadowhawk is a hero mech with the c-bill bonus itself. :P I just need to deck it out! Hell maybe I'll just grind to two mill, get the two mil tomorrow and get a XL engine for it.

As Dark mentioned, are you certain you don't have any of the equipment from any of the mechs still?

UI 2.0 can hide things pretty well sometimes if you aren't up to date on navigating it. :P

Well i wouldn't call it a hero lol....anyways ha yes that is the other way to do it, but in the end you are looking at a good deal of cash for an XL (i think 5 Million for the 300) so you will have to grind for a while. Nice thing about another hero `Mech is it gives you another chassis to swap into when you get sick of the SDH. I know myself that if i grind too long in one `Mech it drives me bonkers and my grinding slows down a lot.

Hey, no worries, we've all made our own share of mistakes of some sort in-game at some point eh?
