Stormcrows are very strong medium mechs. Has ballistic, beam and missile options. No JJ, but quick and fairly agile. I like 'em.

The Mad Dog comes out as a clan bonus mech and the heavy queue is over 50% ... anyone care to do the math to figure out what fraction of the player base has actually purchased bpth the Masakari and Man-o-War packs in order to be able to drop in Mad Dog the day it is released?

It's better to buy Stormcrow via a'la carte option - to buy all 3 versions needed to master one would have to spend 11381 (13390 without a discount) MC.Assuming lower price,12000 MC pack must be bought for 49.95$,without it another 1250 MC for 6.95 is required - that's 56,9$ total.If you buy Stormcrow a'la carte for 55$ you get hero verion prime (30% C-Bills generation bonus) and 3 extra mechbays.
I think the choice is obvious.

It is indeed. PGI really should think this through for the next pack. The clan lights are part of the lower tier packs as low as 30$ which makes MC purchases not worth it, while higher tonnage mechs are simply better bought a la carte than MC.

Now, if a la carte was not available, that'd make sense(and money) for PGI. But in these circumstances it's just a trap for those people who don't do the math before buying.

To be fair, the heavy queue was 50% several times the day before when the Mad Dog wasn't released.

Eventually, the packs won't be available, and on sale, the mediums are definitely cheaper though MC.

Besides, if someone wants to snag one now for MC, and the other 2 for CB, that's now their option.
