So, am I the only one saddened I can't harpoon a whale with a Javelin?

I pilot assassin Jenners. 6xML and 4xML+2xSRM4. I prefer the 6xML build. Needless to say... Heavies hate me. More stealth than any non-ECM mech has a right to, more speed than a 35-ton mech really probably should have... It's good to be a light pilot.

That said, most of the time assaults ignore me. Most of my Dire Wolf kills have been people who just don't turn around when my first alpha cores them. The rest have been legit battles, or me shooting at their CT from above. I'd hate to pilot a whale.

Been running an Adder alot lately mastering them and it has built in Flamer. So been doing my best to get the most from it.

Amazes me how effective a Flamer is at keeping a DW shut down. Everyone totally over loads them with weapons and barely can handle heat I run up and FLAME ON!!!!

Between Flamer and the usual 1 Machine Gun I put on the amount of components I have gotten has to be insane. Crazy good combo near end of battle.

Even though the Cicada is a Medium, I just can't help but post on how much fun it is to whale hunt in one.
With the new map and my ECM 3M, I got not 1 but 2!. Lucky for me really, since they must have Maxed out their Front Armor and omitted anything but a token amount in the rear.
I hid at a choke point and waited. One passed me and I let loose with my AC2 and ML's right into its back, by the time it had started its turn It was too late.
Another was holding a choke point and pounding on a few attempted pushes, I just raced in behind under my ECM Shield and tore into it as well.
Fun Times, I am really loving my Cicada's!

In the past day alone, I was able to kill 5 whales in my kitfoxes. Trust me, I'm just as surprised as you are. xD

I'll leave this Dire Wolf killing Kit Fox build right here. SRM24 and a pair of MGs will tear up the backside of any mech, and I have the Clan SRM6 cooldown and range modules installed. Get behind a Dire Wolf and stay behind him and you should be able to kill one reasonably quickly. The counter-intuitive part is in NOT batch-firing the SRM6s - chain fire or the ghost heat may be enough to keep the Dire Wolf alive.

For killing Dire Wolves from the front I've had good success with my SMN-B, but that's a heavy versus an assault so a bit more fair, and the Dire Wolf torso seems to be really good at catching short range missiles.

I have killed so many whales in various different locusts and my hero spider lately.

Ravens, Jenners, spider, kit foxes, adders all boating NARCs.

What a way to share in the whale hunting.

This weekend I spend most of the time either in a light nipping at heals or providing ECM coverage. The one thing that ran true was how many direwolves were in each match. Depending on the match I could isolate one before they grouped up and light it up with either TAG or NARC. Then watch it die in the rain all alone.

There was the one or two DDC's also, but they are a special case and whales have to be ignored till they are gone.

My buddy runs his ******* 2 Gauss 2 ER PPC and whatever direwolf build.

Today i bought myself a jenner, my first light mech ever after all these years of MWO.
Equipped with 6 ML, i spot him in my third match.

I know he has completly frontloaded his front armour. So in one mighty burst, i take out his rear armour before he could deal 30 damage.
