I have never had this issue before but now all of a sudden I have had my screen lock up but still have audio 5 times since this patch was released yesterday.

So... got some system specs to share? Did the screen freeze, like no movement... or were Mechs walking in place? Maybe a desync with the server? Did you file a support ticket yet? Try repair tool? Maybe add some more details to your post here?

No desynch, this only happens on the mining collective. With this latest patch it said cryengine did not support my gpu a gtx 560 titan 1023MB. This happens about 50% of the time on the new map. It is a shame because I love the new map. The only way to get it unfroze (remember audio is still going) is to ctr+alt+delete and bring up task manager and go back to the game. regular alt+tab does not fix it.

Had the same problem when it was running on the PTS and reported on it. Only played the map twice on the production servers so far and it didn't happen. *shrugs* Definately weird.

I have similar issue. My game suddenly freezes, and sounds glitch. Alt-tabbing solves this... but this doesn't feel like the freeze frame glitch (i don't have sound issues with that if it happens).

Is there any way to check and see what causes the lockup on my end? I do not think this is going to be answered by PGI so does the community have any ideas?

I have the same problem for about 2 weeks or so¿ that keeps occuring, mostly on the new mining collective map (but that may just be coincidense because I get that map about 50% of the time).
The screen freezes, you can still hear sound, you can still move, shoot, power down etc (don't know if I'm able to chat but I think that still works). If you press escape you get to see and move the mouse cursor (haven't tried using B for map overlay). After a while the game does a CTD.
I'm running monitoring programs in the background just for this bug to see if it's a problem on my end.
My CPU/GPU don't go over 72c and 69c (Sleeping Dogs runs way hotter). Only the GPU is at max load. CPU doesn't go over 64.2% (and the core with the heavyest load doesn't pass 89.2%). Memory load is at max 63%. My OS drive has 16gb of 96gb free, and the WD-black gamedrive has 10gb free of 938 (1tb disk). Pagefile doesn't fill up.
Settings:
1680*1050
Object, Textures: Medium
Rest is low, v-sync/blur/AA = off
(yeah those are some awesome graphics)
Hardware:
AMD Phenom II X940 3Ghz
Asus GTS 250 1GB DK
4GB 800mhz Corsair
100GB s-ata WD blue, 1TB s-ata WD Black
Never had CTD's before, this is the first time I'm getting the same crash over and over.
-edit-
Alt tabbing does not help.
Also increasing the reconnect time by 2 minutes would be better because half of the time that the game crashed and I reconnect I'm not getting my endgame exp/cb because the game was too busy with:
Crashing, starting/loading the patcher, loading the login screen, showing video's that you can't skip fast enough, logging in, loading the mechlab and then rejoining the game.

And FFS WebDevTeam, fix the damn texteditor already or use some other editor, it has been bugged out for over a year now?

as someone else stated, Alt tabbing out and going back in fixes it for me. No more having to alt+f4 and reconnect.
still only happens on the new map with certain mechs (especially the maddog)

Running into the same issue on mining collective.
So far done a full reinstall and all the rest of the troubleshooting tricks possible.
the last thing reported in my logs is
Locking vertex buffer when it is already locked!
repeated many many times. something odd is going on here.
