Yup
I sent a support ticket
they told me to do a clean install of my video drivers (they said it seems to only really happen on machines with nvidia cards, due to a possible conflict with their new client)
then reboot system
that had no effect on the problem at all

Or does the reconnect have the same problem?

you can reconnect and rejoin the game (hopefully you aren't dead by then)
after being kicked from the match on Mining Collective, I've never been kicked again after rejoing that match

One thing that seems to work for me, as a temp fix, is to hit Control, Alt, Delete, and start my Task manager. If I do that the moment i freeze, it saves me match, literally every time.
Weird but true.

I do that every time, but sometimes there's no saving it...if it wants to completely crash, it's gonna completely crash...

Doing that will likely get MWO's video rendering properly again. Just alt-tab back into the game and carry on with the match.

Yes, all my stuff is, and always will be, and always has been, up to date. No, no other game does this. Yes, the map is broken, just like the HUD was back in the day.
Yes, PGI needs to fix it, or simply pull the map until it's fixed.
