I visit these forums 5x - 10x a day.

Every time I want to post I have to re-login. I don't know that the forums have *ever* kept me logged in despite the fact that I check "Keep me logged in" every single time I log in.

Is there any possible way we could fix this. Getting really tired of logging in all the time.

"keep me logged in" keeps you logged in if you close all the MWO tabs but not your browser. It's a website security thing, I can't remember where it's described, but check the website support forum, I believe it's in there.

EDIT: But I feel your pain. I'm generally pretty neutral as to whether I stay logged in or not, but it can get anoying sometimes.

EDIT2: Or it keeps you from timing out on the forums after a period of inactivity.

I'm just sayin. . . the level of security is a little excessive.

I fail to see what needs to be "fixed"

I thought this was just me/my browser doing something stupid. There seems to be some sort of auth timeout too, because I've had it require a relogin numerous times simply because I walked away from the PC, with the window still open, for an hour or two.

i think the devs are being cautious, because of the one layer (of security) between you and possible account details, on this point the present level of security is the best.

Note: I also hope there are plans in the pipeline to throw my CC details behind another layer of security so that my forums access will become easier.

Great post.

I find it super annoying too. The whole login thing is messed up in many ways. I can't save password properly ever. I cat even log in on my mobile phone.

The log me out all the time thing is bad too.

I know how to click a checkbox. This is a tech problem or a security "feature" that needs to go.

If they arent going to let us stay logged in for security reasons, they could at least replace the "keep me logged in" checkbox with "remember my email" so thats one less thing to type in.

Rather than the sort of pointless name calling these sort of threads often degenerate into (see also linux 'help' forums), might I suggest people post some additional information to help identify if this problem is actually something that might be browser or system based as it is clearly not universal, but does seem to if not widespread then to at least affect a number of users.

I am using Google Chrome on Windows 7 x64 and have both checked the stay logged in option and asked chrome to remember my login/password and neither of those occurs. The forum logs me out every time the forum tab is closed or the computer goes to sleep. I also get an auth timeout after an unidentified period of inactivity in the forums tab, without closing the window or the computer going to sleep.

Same here, Win7 x64 + Opera 12 (previous version as well). Tho the browser does remeber my login details, so it's a simple Ctrl+Enter for me.

Win7x64 using Firefox (current), everything is fine. Keeps me logged in, remembers my password... everything.

It suddenly occurred to me that while I have tested this with chrome in linux and had the same problem, I haven't actually tested it with any other browsers, so I installed firefox on the back of Agent Crazy Dip's report and had a crack. The login persistence seemed to work, although it didn't remember my password either. The weirdest part is that now the Chrome login seems to be persistent too, as I had closed the MWO window in chrome before I logged in with Firefox, but after closing Firefox opened it again and it was still logged in.

I blame the evil spectre of Steve Jobs.

Not sure why it doesn't remember your info. But firefox seems to work just fine, at least for me.

I CBA to install 'fox for just one website.

Chrome is pretty popular, can we get persistent login for chrome? I hardly think its a browser issue as it doesn't happen on any other site
