I never said that the lack of voice-comms was a good thing, and I never implied that group pugging with strangers was preferable to dropping with friends. My point, was that the pilot I quoted could go out there and win some free stuff by putting forth a bit of effort, rather than sitting around and bemoaning the fact that the challenge wasn't tailored exactly to his tastes. For the record, I fully support in-game voice-comms and dropping with friends over Pugs. However, you only make new friends by first meeting strangers. If someone is reluctant to drop with strangers, then he'll never grow his friends list and acquire more people for drop partnering. Optimally, someone wanting more drop partners would join a Unit. I know several good ones that I could recommend, if anyone is interested. I'm afraid that your post is bunk since you failed to apply any critical thinking to what I said, and instead formed hasty assumptions. Nice attitude you got there. ;) Yeah, I figure it was something like that. The downside is that it makes folks hold off shooting to try and let someone else get the kill and lose a point. I've had a couple matches where an enemy Mech was on the verge of dying with three of us on it, and then everyone stopped shooting except me. The enemy Mech then got an extra salvo before I finished it, causing more damage to my Mech in the process. It's pretty annoying; I think I'd rather have cherry pickers to contend with rather than folks who try to hold back at the last second. Still, I think the Challenge is pretty cool all around. :)

I am not complaining that it isn't tailored to "me", it is another event that excludes a player base/type in a game that has a bad track record of pushing players away. Your responses come off as rather trollish and I will leave it at that if you are incapable of comprehending what I was conveying.

(A sum up of the original conveyed point, external team building requirements with pushes to promote that are bad, if team play is going to be promoted as such, then it should be internal to the game, not rely on forum pm's on this site or another, teamspeak [or any 3rd party comms], it should be internal to the game. Otherwise you shouldn't push group requirements for event participation due to player exclusion, I could give a rats pfft about the rewards on this event.)

Good day

Do you know what that sound was? it was my point flying right past your head and you didn't get it. Nobody said the challenge "wasn't to their tastes" its the fact that getting into a group is a pain in the butt cause there IS NO INGAME CHAT LOBBY. The fact that you have to use 3rd party software or go to the forums to find a group is just wrong. You can't talk to anyone ingame that isn't in a match already and that's stupid, I also never said anything about wanting "voice-comms" in the game just a BASIC lobby to type/talk to other players in. lets use Warframe as an example of what to do with a chat system and pug drops cause they did it RIGHT just go look it up see for yourself and you'll know what I mean. Btw you might want to work on you "Critical Thinking" and maybe add some reading comprehension skills there buddy.

Grouping with people you don't even know does not make a good team anyway, that's no different than a pug as you don't know them or had a chance to get to know them.

I beg to differ my good fella, you have undoubtedly not been forcing yourself enough to be a pleasant companion during jolly cooperation with strangers. They make quite the team when you seek to improvise good chemistry, be brave, chive on!

Anyone (18+yrs of age w/functional mic & willing to download Mumble) looking to join a unit still based out of North America? Blue Star Irregulars are currently recruiting players as we expand into a full sized regimental unit. We encourage players to experiment with builds, will assist new players in learning the basics and finer points of MWO. And most of all... we have "mature" attitudes and "potty" mouths. I support the unit website and voice server so there's no need for donations (but I'll take your money if you want! LOL!) so you can spend on MCs or whathaveyou :P

And another weekend without MWO. I'm not willing to enter LRM hell for some lousy GXP.

Folks, please tone down the outright or passive aggressive personal shots down and keep it to constructive feedback.

Thanks and good hunting.

Ok, I'll reitterate again. You need to score1 point per component destruction (So folks aren't trying to not get the final kill)

Rewards are OK, 3 days PT is cool. GXP is less exciting. Free stuff is always cool

Overall, I like the challenge though.

But why no sales this weekend? Particularly on the CBill bonus heroes?

Stop doing these challenges with Tag and Narc bonuses FFS. It turns it into Lrmageddon. It happened last time and Everyone said this sucks, they shouldn't have done that. But did you listen? Nope. Thanks for ruining my weekend Pgi. Oh wait it goes till tuesday. Thanks for ruining half a week.

These group challenges are great but, I have no need for more XP. The added premium time is nice. Once I achieved it, my need to pursue the second two challenges was non-existent. Now, I don’t mind helping fill a lance, but dammit, if you want to play, lets play. I don’t appreciate it when I join to help and there is all this dinking around in the mech lab, players dropping out, waiting for someone to finish a match and all the other built in delays, I am in it now for C-bills and I can get them with or without a group drop. I have no desire to ever get involved in clan wars as I am not looking for another job. I don’t need someone telling me I need to show up for “practice” be involved by making posts to show I’m active and a myriad of other constraints on MY lifestyle. I will always be a PUG player. And I spend a good $$$ TOO! I purchased both clan packs because I can, not because I need them for “the team!”.

Bottom line, I will help you achieve your goals if you don’t waste my time while I am helping you. I apologize for being snarky, :wacko:but I spent 20 minutes waiting for others to get ready to enter a match this morning. Your being inconsiderate of me and my goals cost me 400,000 C-bills. Pay up! :o Enjoy your day! :)

Come on ... will you STOP with the forced 4-Player group for this?? Let us Just Play. Why can't you make it 2+ so we can play with our friends like we want instead of forced 4-mans??
...
Let us Just Play the game when you have Challenges. Solo challenges included--don't force people to drop in Solo Queue, just tally their score based on individual results no matter which queue we use. Let us Just Play.

Well Captn, Kudos if you dare facing a Lance challenge as a 2 man team. Thats brave if somewhat foolish. But the second part? The "Let us drop on top of Soloists as a Group and get full rewards"... Happens every day were there is NO challenge. I do not feel a need to extend the stomping into Challenge territory.

You'd make a fine Sherrif of Rottingham though:

"So it's come down to this, has it?
A fight to the death...
...mano a mano...
...man to man...
...just you and me and my...
...guards!"

(Mel Brooks / Men in Tights)

PS: (Pun incoming) Seriously, I doubt dropping a Lance on Solo-Dudes is JUST play... :-P

I'm 25.
I'm familiar with the song.

There's things called repeats, 'oldies channels', music in shoppping centers, and the music your parents listen to. :P
It's like people know Beethoven, the Beetles and Elvis. Old =/= not around anymore.

While any challenges are good i cant get why there are so many of 'em that cant be done by PUGS/lonewolfes. Why so many love to players who are not so strong to play alone?! Why did You start challenges that cant be done by single player? Why you hate lonewolfes so much?...

P.S. I play only alone and only with pugs. And i cant get why others can do some challenges when i have no way to do it...

The last lance challenge, I wasted 5-6 hours over the course of the wkd [redacted] just trying to get full 4-man groups.

Not doing that again. I'll pass. Wish they had loosened the restriction to 2-4 man groups.

Kinda ridiculous IMO to run a group requirement and have NO in-game way for primarily solo players to easily find and get groups.

Their pro sources from the NGNG podcasts assured them that it wasn't a problem. Don't complain, you're an aberration. Solo players who put hundreds of dollars into the game don't matter as much as competitive units.
