...how about just a plain ordinary Cbill mech sale?

There have been a number of those recently -- for most of the main IS factions. Not all were covered yet, so keep your eye out.

If these were at 50% off, I'd buy 1-2 Anansi (Urbanmech build for the second), and possibly a St.Ives.
As is... meh.

Now that this thread is open I thought I'd move it in here.

I'd comment on the Lance of Heroes thread but it poofed.

It gives me a reason to use my Adrenaline (Quickdraw IV; renamed because of the scheme). Known for being slow and great at cleaning up.

This mech does very well. While an AC/20 will do 40 damage in 4 seconds, twin AC/10s will do 40 damage in 2.5 seconds. Add in a large laser and pew. So long as there aren't any LRMs, this thing pretty much trumps what it encounters when it finally arrives.

well i won't be participating. I played the last one and almost punched a hole in my laptop so I'll wait too play until this is over . Tired of the lrm losers that worry ore about thier kdr than a TEAM oriented game

Those "LRM Losers" are hardly Anti-Team Players. Lance of Heros event does not score on KDR. Punch that laptop, knock the crud out of it, perhaps that will help you gather perspective.

oh it's hardly a miss perspective. If KDR didn't matter too these people they would actually try to get more points by helping with the team instead of lrming to help themselves. That's what your perspective is missing. Use a laser and see how terrible you really do.

lol The game has lasers? No way! Go heat up another bowl of Trolli-O's, that ones left you bitter.

You LRM to help your teammates get spotting and narc/tag assist bonuses. It's the scouts that benefit, so there are lots of scouts narcing everything, which makes LRMing more fun since you don't lose targets as often.

I own the IV4 but have a bit of buyer's remorse. There just doesn't seem to be enough tonnage to play with to make good use of all those hardpoints.

I end up running 2xac2 and, 2 lrm 10 and 2 ml with jj's. Very similar to one of the stock Jagers. Nothing like what the new 60 ton Mad Dog is able to pack.

what? no sale? nice try, giving an extra 20% CBill over the weekend isn't going help sell more of these mechs.

I highly doubt that many of the "older" ones would ever be on a sale like this.

With a 50% bonus on the mech, and a 50% bonus on the premium time that you can easily get from the challenge, I'm willing to bet that a 100% cbill boost for the weekend would be incentive enough for some people to buy the mechs at full price to cash in on the extra c-bill grinding over the weekend.

If you think about it, they're probably going to do a different quartet of heroes every weekend.

Why they didn't also couple this with a sale on said heroes, I don't understand.

I understand the feeling. Although they are yet to add the full range of quirks to the IS mechs. So it might end up having a niche advantage of some kind.

I have to agree with a lot of other posts on this thread...
Why are these hero'mechs not on sale PGI? With the bonus and a 50% discount I would easily have bought the Hellslinger. I have a TON of hero'mechs (I like to collect them and support you guys), but I just can't justify paying the full MC for one.

I feel guilty enough spending real $ on a single Battle'mech when previous games let me play with hundreds of 'mechs for $50-60 back in the day.

Put them on sale, help ease my guilt while encouraging me (the consumer) to help you... Help me help you PGI. I bet you would get a lot of sales if those 'mechs were at discount price. What's better? No sales, or many sales at 50%?
