Viktor (Can I have what your smoking)

My uncle had a furniture store for 40 years i worked there when I was young He never priced thing so far beyond peoples wallets maybe he did not make 500% profit on virtual items like PGI does but he made a good net profit by selling more items at a lower cost and building up his cliental.

PGI has this idea that these fools will keep buying everything I market at foolish prices because they love this IP so dang much which after a few years becomes a unrealistic approach.

I am not talking about their general pricing structure, I am talking about the cost of a premium subscription. Subscriptions whatever the form have been charging between $10-$15 a month for as long as MMOs have been around and MWO subscription price is no different. Both WoT and Warthunder charge the exact same amounts for the same thing. Premium time isn't overpriced in this game, period. Everything else is, but premium time isn't.

Also what does your uncle having a furniture store have to do with a MMO? The costs of doing business aren't even close to the same. In fact I bet the average cashier made less than $10/hr and how many did he need, 4-5 of them and maybe another 3-4 sales reps making roughly $35-40k a year.

Guess how much a single top notch programer makes? Probably $70k or more. Now hire 20 of them and right there your labor costs are 1.4 million a year, probably more than your Uncles furniture store grossed in sales in that same time frame. Now add the rest of your staff, plus marketing costs. Now don't forget to cost of computer equipment and oh the immense bandwidth usage costs, I don't want to even think about how much that costs them a month.

Point is while I agree that PGI is greedy as hell with most things, there are also a hell of alot of reoccurring costs associated with running an online game and they got to make money somewhere, especially when probably more than half the people playing the game don't give them a dime. That is another thing right there, you Uncle wasn't giving away half his Furniture to freeloaders and having to make up the costs somewhere else.

Anyway, again, lots of stuff that PGI sells is way too expensive. Colors, Camo, stupid cockpit times, mechs, etc, but premium time isn't overpriced.

Business models come and go PGI would be considered more of a Corporate Raider to this IP rather than a user friendly company. As you are correct on almost every item it is 50% overpriced. Premium time should be on a on/off switch or automatic on/off when a user is online or not online as a courtesy to there consumers.

My uncles business survived 40 years by fair honest transactions and attention to its clientele and the smart advertising and sales events he held at his store. And he sold his company for a huge profit based on its net worth and its clientele.

I guess Viktor some sound honest business ideas never go out of style.

to be honest, its not the premium time that im concerned with. Even WOT and War Thunder still suck your premium time if you are not online to use it. That I can handle. Its no different than you buying a subscription that regardless if you are online or not, youre subscription still counts down to the point that you buy another or lose the special privileges that comes with owning a subscription.

My biggest gripe is the over pricing of everything else and the horrid conversion system in this game.

Me? I think premium Time should only countdown when I play. If I play 15 minutes or 5 hours on a given day, one day of premium time is decremented from my account. If I don't play for a week or a month, time does not continue to tick down.

THAT'S how you get people to purchase Premium Time - counts down only when you play.

I would go for a day at a time the first time you log in that day and have it go for the next 24 hrs.

Right now the only Premium Time I have used was the time earned on one of the challenges or such that started immediately afterwards (or something like that). They already have 1 day premium day available but it would be too much of a hassle to purchase it everytime you "want" to use it where as with a longer time purchased and using it a day at a time, it guarantees it would be used and then be more likely to purchase more later.

I would pay more if they'd make a MM that made a fair fight FOR ME instead of me being an expendable cog in the wheel in which it's completely irrelevant what I do during the game, becuase it's only 8% of the match. That means people all roughly at my same experience. That means not putting FIVE guys in trial mechs on one side and zero on the other.

As it is, getting a bonus to the XP and c-bills I get for losing really is not that compelling. 150% of practically nothing is still practically nothing. You could triple the premium time value, and it'd still not be compelling. I don't need a bonus to the values. I need a bonus to the game's ability to schedule a fair game, in which I get rewarded for doing well and punished for doing poorly, as opposed to it being a complete waste of time.

It is far cheaper to grind out 3 of the same mech variants at the same time, instead of EVERY mech in a pack at the same time.
That is true. I though 111M CBills was enough for me to do them in parallel, but I was wrong.

When I bought the Kitfox for C-bills (didn't have the Pack), I became far more poorer quickly. I thought I spent an IS Medium's set worth of costs (like a set of Shadowhawks), but inevitability I spend closer to what I'd pay for a set of IS Assaults (like a set of Thunderbolts) because clan weapons were more expensive... and then I had to buy the ECM for all 3 Kitfox-C Right Arms... and let's just say I WAS POORER THAN BLAKE.

I'm kinda making up for lost time by getting Premium (though the Koshi pack) to offset the future Stormcrow+Timberwolf sets I'll buy in the near future... but the reality is that I realized I had it good with the IS mechs... even though I have like 15 275 STD Engines. I have plenty of XL engines to swap around (I have a large set with all the labbing I do with smurfy's) so I don't have to pay for all this unnecessary stuff.

If you think of paying for Clans like "playing the game for the first time", then you are going to eat holes in you C-bill wallet extraordinarily quick.

I think premium time is O.K. where it is, maybe they could throw in a free color or something for us that buys the bigger packs. I'm sorry, but I really think modules and poke-mech for c-bills are end game content. Even we who are high-volume players should have someting that is "painful" or a "challange" but still rewarding, and to me that will be buying 4x3 clan mechs and fit them with weapons and modules using c-bills only. There will be no reason at all for me to play those extra matches if I already have every mech in the game ready to go with equipment and engines and still 2 Billion c-bills in the bank.
