As much as I would love to see them, even with a new design, so long as they have the right feel, that's what I want.
I also like that he stated it, it's not the name... seems too many people think the name is the issue, not the look.

If we could get this one, all with the AC at the right location (above CENTER torso, despite the AC technically mounted in the right torso), i would buy it right away.
But i fear it is to close to the Harmony Gold-Design.

"Old Guard" are the only people who even know what a Marauder is, you can easily fool the rest of the playerbase by creating an oversized Shadow Hawk and naming it "Marauder". The big question is if it's not an original, why bother with it at all?
By the way, "reseen" Marauder is very ugly:
But teh Marauder IIC Reseen is beautiful

Ugly or not.. . . I'd love to have it in the game.

and start a fundraiser for it to after all HG has a lot of people who will pay to take them down http://www.ign.com/b...illing-robotech
I wonder if they could somehow manage to do this by maybe getting Microsoft involved by convincing the other companies to give them some sort of exclusive rights to produce video games for these franchises if they are able to expand them into the US once HG is dealt with, they might actually be able to pull it off. Hell Microsoft + Hasbro alone should easily be able to handle anything HG throws their way with the kind of pockets and legal team those two companies would wield.

Not original or... um, not... it still looks mwo styled at least. I think more would approve in the short run just to have an official marauder in 3D. Plus it's bound to look wicked... well pre geometry

But don't they have a legal department to look and check these things?
I daresay it would be entirely possible to design some reseen that were different enough to the original designs.... however, nobody can predict what HG will do with that. They might lawsuit on general principle, as their principles require them to be titanic butt-helmets.
Even if PGI won the lawsuit, it would be a huge drain on resources.

That actually looks pretty badass, like a cross between a madcat and a shadowcat. It almost looks like MWO art with that colorscheme too, I'd pilot the hell outta that.
If PGI is really willing to actually go to task and defend a redesign, then yeah I'll totally buy a pack like the urbanmech had for it.

That would be because it is Alex's art he did for some official TT product released by CGL who has the merch licensing from Topps.

The problem is that PGI's lawyers can't tell them if HG's lawyers are going to decide it's close enough to file suit.
I would love to see reseen/reimagined Warhammer and Marauders but unless someone can say for sure HG won't pursue legal actions I am not holding my breath.

to be a lawyer seems as the best job ever
like you are sitting in a chair and then they ask you about something you say that you are not sure and get paid

Aye, but on the other hand the Hellbringer looks damn close to the Warhammer and the Timberwolf without missiles is also very close to the Marauder already, because they are the Clan's improvements on these two mechs. (which is nice, but as IS pilot... you know... )
I've been running Mad-5S loadouts, but it's more efficient to use the meta Timber build (PPCs in side torso and gauss in right arm + 2 more DHS for the removed lasers).
And a Hellbringer with a Warhammer loadout just sucks coolant popsicles...
(not to forget the removed lower arms when using two PPCs on clan mechs)

harmony gold doesn't own rights to Warhammer or Marauder (or rifleman, etc), They own rights to the Officer's Battlepod, Destroids, etc. When they look the same, they have copyright on the images. But if they do not look the same, they have no basis for litigation.
I find it exceedingly unlikely that Alex couldn't draw up a marauder or warhammer that kept the concept and hardpoints the same and still looked awesome. If anything egg-shaped with arms hung down was able to be sued by HG, then the Timberwolf would be liable, and basically 30% of every mecha anime in the history of ever.
None of this would stop HG from suing the pants off of PGI, or tying MWO up in miles of red tape for years just as HG has done every other time the subject has been breached.
They don't have to win, just not loose, because PGI will run out of lawyers guns and money long before HG does.
