I sold my Summoner-B and Summoner-D after getting the Prime to Master status. I saw no reason to keep them, although I did keep omni-pods that were unique.

I never keep more than one mech of each, because i simply won't play them. I only need the variant i like most (which is, frankly speaking, the best variant). Why would i keep the other variants while i know i will not use them for one single match after i got the skills?

If the Summoner would get a Hero variant, wouldnt you need to rebuy 2 variants to max the hero variants skills?

Only reason for clans is to outfit it the same if you an drop multiples in CW, or if IS buy the same mech twice (or more). WWHich currently aint happening but in this game anything can change at a whim.

If I bought a mechs just to unlock elite for some other mech, there's no reason to hold on to it, unless I loved it.

Yes I paid real money for the clan mechs, but they pay me back when I liquidate the non-Primes into cbill. It's not a value rip off when I didn't pay cbills for them. They in turn funds my IS mech purchases upgrades, and afford my all of the modules I need.

Any mech sale that spares me from the grind is a wise business decision

No, because he already unlocked the basics on the ones he sold. He already has achieved the eliting of three heavy mechs, so now he can take this Hero mech all the way to mastery

I'm still waiting to see how much the Timberwolf is going to be in EC to decide if I'm either just going to give up on the game, or sell my Orion to get it. Seeing as the Summoner is almost 2.5x as much as an Orion (a mech 5tons less) I'm not going to hold my breath on its price being "reasonable" in any fashion.

Edit: Said screw it and sold my mech anyway.

Things change. PGI occasionally makes changes to mech to make them more palatable. Now some of them are of dubious increase in worth, but it is conceivable that someday some variant you sold will have a quirk that makes it desirable to use. I'll own one and you will have to rebuy yours.

Normally I don't sell mechs, but I've sold a couple in the past, when we got the free Centurion, for example.

I like buying stuff that's faction appropriate, rather than what keeps up with the meta-of-the-month. That means I tend to stick with a chassis.

Those that I have that aren't that faction appropriate and/or I hate, I'm stuck with at least one of due to coming as part of a package deal.
