Maybe they meant 'new training ground'.
Yes I'm being facetious, but I still haven't seen the new map.

Hai, I went for an entire evening until my last drop before it showed up. At least I have not gotten stuck on things on the map like I was during the testing phrase of it.

That said, I did have one night I got it 3/4 times in a row (which in my books is not a bad thing, it is a ridiculously fun map).
Maybe its a question of luck and you just time in at the wrong time of the rotation?

And yes, It's going to be like Crimson Straits... a nasty map for LRMs.

The only weapon type that suffers a lot compared to other maps is extreme-range direct fire. Mid-range direct fire, like ~650m, is still pretty decent but your opponent is also more likely to get into your face before you kill em.
It's a really good map.

Only dropped in when playing the splat dog, but this map seems to be a bless for splats and other backstab/brawl type of mechs. Feels great to have a place for them, after so many of long range favorable maps.

Now the problem with Forest Colony is it is too dark-fogged to see anything on my monitor. Options/Brightness is already all the way up, but does nothing now. But somehow other players see me from across the map when the game starts. So the dark-fog seems monitor dependent and should be removed for fairplay. The original Forest Colony from closed beta was the most realistically done map so far anyway. The Mechs all looked the correct scale on it with the way the atmospherics were set up. Take a look......
Now that was a very cool map, very realistic. They should just bring it back and call it "Forest Colony Summer" or similar. Now those SRMs actually worked!

Got it repeatedly in the lance challenge.
I wasn't carrying LRMs in either case.
