Sigh....

Just got out of a game where a teammate had a King Crab with 4 LRM 15's and a Tag laser. That's it. Oh, and well over 2,000 rounds of ammo.

I'm not sure which is worse - turning a 100 ton assault mech into a paperweight under 180 m, or the fact that this was on Caustic Valley, and thus he was able to rack up a hair over 1,000 damage in that thing and survive a winning match, risking giving the impression that it is actually viable. Argh!

Just goes to show that it is viable under the right conditions. I don't much like LRMs though unless I can move fast, aka pretty much in anything but the trial Kintaro. I certainly wouldn't use them as a sole weapon, and especially would not on a slow machine like the KGC. It makes it hard to generate the right conditions.

Actually, that's the stock build with the MLs and SRMs plus either a ton of LRM ammo or a heatsink stripped out and the lasers put in. I bet you anything he was running that stock 340 STD.

I actually have done semi-similar loadouts to that Raven-3L kosmos posted, in the name of being combat viable while still lugging that NARC around...since half the time bringing the NARC does nothing, and then there's the fact PGI took away the bonuses for using it for some reason....

Now I remember why I haven't played the Raven-3L for months.

Posted in the whine thread the other day but i'll post it here as well. Spectated a TBR with 1xLPL, 2xLRM5, and a TAG Laser. That was everything he had. WIsh i had gotten a screenshot of it lol.

I do have a screen somewhere though of another TBR only armed with a gauss rifle and ac2.
