If anyone wishes to suspend disbelief before trolling/QQing/flaming, Google "EVE Online missile mechanics" first.
TL:DR? In EVE, the size and speed of the ship dictates missile damage.

MWO could implement any of several things.
1) Damage resistance to LRMs scaled to mech size. (QQ!)

2) Missile tracking scaled to mech tonnage and speed.
(Edit: OR)
3) Give each mech an evasion multiplier that with speed affects LRM tracking.
(Edit: to cause less confusion I think 3) is least insulting to the Battletech lore)
Notice I only mentioned LRMs. SRMs and Streaks Should still retain an anti-light flavor to them.
