It was very interesting to listen to, even for this lenght.
I'm looking forward to all the things mentioned and happy to have heard about the background of past decisions.
Thanks for all the information and your time, Russ!

Also the one where they asked "why when you do good things are there always ppl who will *****" was a pretty stupid one
I did like how Russ finally admitted that his stubbornness was to fault for why they just plowed on when we told them we didnt want something... Then he backslid and missed the point entirely, saying they may look into 3pv.
3PV was never the problem. The fact that they didnt listen when ppl were screaming at them not to put it in and then "position at the time"ed us WAS.

But the $64 question, what about community warfare? If I read everything correctly, each faction will have only a faction specific mech variant list available to use. How restrictive is this list going to be? If we want to maximize the effectiveness of our favorite playstyles are we going to have to choose our faction based not just by available variants, but on a combination of variants and weapon specific quirks?
For instance, let's say I want to play a 2PPC 2AC5 battlemaster. My options are the 1D and 1G. According to what seems to be the lists, if the 1G gets a PPC quirk, then I'm good. If it's the 1D, then my options are play Davion, play less than optimally, change my loadout and probably play style, or buy and grind a different mech.
Then I have to try to find a faction with a variant in each weight class that has hard points and quirks that match what I want to play. The end result I can see this heading to is a meta faction based on combination of available mechs and favored weapons.

On the contrary, 3PV is nothing but a newb trap. It indeed was (and remains) a problem.
We would be better off with it disabled in all public queues, although it should still be available as an option in private matches for folks who want to make screenshots, videos, etc.

If 3PV wasn't a problem, they didn't have any need to listen to us.

Standard Match-Maker = anything goes.
CW = Lore based limits.

Russ have gone over this. Factions in this case means Clans and IS. There will be no limits to what Inner Sphere chassi you can pilot when fighting for the Inner Sphere in CW.
