Honestly, that's very attractive. I'd go with something like this:

LA: 2E
RA:2E
LT: 1B
RT: 1B

Now, this is almost too good. 2xAC5+4xML is easily doable which is a beastly build. You can even go crazy and do 2xAC10+4xML(hot)/4xSL(better) and wreck faces. That's why I'd punish this variant with no jump jets. I'd still buy this in a heartbeat though.

You sir have my seal of approval

I'd like to see one of these options in a SHD Hero. All have 7 hardpoints, and all would have either 3 or 5 JJ's, like the current variants.

OPTION 1 (balanced build)
H: 1M
LT: 1B
RT: 1M
LA: 2E
RA: 2E

OPTION 2 (ballistics boat)
LT: 3B
RT: 3B
RA: 1E

OPTION 3 (missile boat)
H: 1M
CT: 1M
LT: 1M/1E
RT: 2M
RA: 1E

OPTION 4 (energy boat)
H: 1M
LT: 3E
LA: 2E
RA: 1E

All of these hardpoints are present in variants already in the game, except for the RT on Option 2 and the LT on Option 3. I think a balanced build like Option 1 is the most likely to happen. Option 2 could be used to make a double BoomHawk or GaussHawk, so I consider it the least likely option. I'd like to see Option 3. It would make a great 5x SRM4 striker, or a 5x LRM5 missile vomiter. Option 4 may be too similar to the Sparky to make it into the game.

How about

H: 1m
LT: 1b, 1m
RT: 1b, 1m
RA: 1e
LA: 1e

Or ...
H: 1m
LT: 2b
RT: 2e
CT: 1m
RA: 1e

Or ...
H: 1m
RT: 1b, 1e
LT: 1b, 1e
CT: 1m
RA: 1e

Macksheen, I like the middle one out of those 3 options. Running the Champion 2H build but with the PPC mounted on the shoulder instead of the arm would be deadly for hill peaking.

Balistics in both torsos I think is a pipe dream. Not likely to happen. We're more likely to get a 7M SHD.

I'd rather have a 7M SHD anyway. :D

I know it would be crazy but what about a shadow hawk with a ballistic hard point in each shoulder?

It would be crazy lol. Visibility would be so terrible, but it could possibly run an AC/40 build with it (not a very good one mind you).

I only have a quam with the missile boat idea as there is one already the R2D2.. erm SHD-2D2.

We're already getting a heavy ECM carrier which is inevitably going to be pretty popular. I don't think they want to introduce more ECM 'Mechs because at this rate (Kitfox, Koshi, Hellbringer) every team is going to have blanket ECM coverage.

That being said, a special forces themed 'Mech with a tacticool camo would be really awesome. I think an energy boat Shadowhawk would be outclassed by the Sparky though.

News bulletin: Adding a second ECM medium for the Inner Sphere isn't going to change the number of ECM 'Mechs teams can field. It just means we're not always going to see the same Cicadas every time.

The Cicada is a pretty niche 'Mech while the Shadowhawk is more of a medium workhorse and a very popular one. If the SHD gets an ECM version you can be sure that it would suddenly be the "premiere" variant and people would simply run these instead.

The ShadowHawk is easily one of the best medium IS mechs. Giving it a variant with ECM is plain and simply OP.
