Anyone noticed anything wrong with Mad Dog?
I had to hit eight times with an AC40 Booom Jager to kill one, and some direct front hits were registered to rear armor.

I think the problem is with hitreg and the ac40. I been getting a lot direct hit with no damage with it.

I second Monkey Lovers comment. I have noticed it also, not just on Maddogs, I haven't used my boom jegar in a long time now. I have mine set up with tripple UAC/5's. It still goes boom! :-)

Also, the final damage is 443 but I hit the Mad Dog 8 times (320 damage) plus the other mech 2 times (80 damage). There is 43 points of "ghost" damage.

Those hits were kind of all over the place, and I don't think it was eight.

That said, ballistics close up sometimes have problems for me, too. Might be HSR that's not working well in this case, I don't know.

Most of the hits seemed to register from what I could see, but it looks like the issue you had was firing at already damaged components at the end there, with your 7th and 8th shots alternating between side torsos - damage transfers at a much lower value to adjacent components (50% if shooting through 1 damaged component, 75% shooting through 2). It's why the ZombieCent used to be such a freaking hard thing to kill.

Also, watching the paperdoll for the third hit... I don't know if that registered. Your reticle lit up as though you had scored a hit, but I couldn't see any appreciable damage register on the Dog. It might be the angle you fired at and HSR - when you appeared to hit the trigger, your crosshair seemed to be pointing high and right above the MadDog's right shoulder. The HSR umpires in the referee box may have reviewed the hit and black flagged it.

So... looks legit to me, I guess.

Super armor? Most complaints are that the Mad Doge doesn't have enough armor. I don't personally own one, but my 55 ton mediums tend to tank quite a bit more damage than they do...

Given how I allocate armor on mine, it would take a bare minimum of 188 damage (5 AC40 shots) to kill me through 1 side+center torso. What's actually more likely is that I continue to take damage to the destroyed (and enormous) side torso, and it transfers at half rate to the CT. If that happened, it would take two extra hits to kill me (7 shots). At least one of your shots hit the other side torso, so this looks totally plausible to me, even without some hits failing to register.

You get any damaged caused by ammo explosions you start, even if some of it is 'cancelled' by CASE.

As a Mad Dog pilot, I can definitely tell you that something is wrong with the hit boxes. I finally realized it this time I was running away from 3 or 4 enemies, in a straight line, and every hit to my rear registered on my front armor.

yeah mad dogs have super large torsos so could be damage transfer reducing damage. extra damage in the scoreboard could be from ammo exlosions and what not.

1st shot - LT hit, both,
2nd shot - RA +CT hit,
3rd shot - miss,
4th shot - RT hit, both,
5th shot - miss,
6th shot - LL,
7th shot - LT+RT,
8th shot - dead RT hit, both,
9th shot - LT hit both.

As seen from the video, you were clearly panicing,
so the best thing you could have done is calming yourself down and

rechecking your evidence.


P.S. I forgot to add that, in case you didn't know,
you can judge where your hits landed by watching the explosions.
PGI made them server-side events some time ago.

AC20 deals 3 damage per crit; up to 29 potential damage per AC20.

That can lead to "ghost damage", on top of air+arty+ammo explosions.
