Yeah, I've seen a few guys just camping at back, then engaging at the end trying to get the kills.
Fortunately (?) the team usually loses, so their selfish score doesn't count for them anyway. Hopefully in future matches they will just engage from the beginning like the rest of us.

and
Players who opt in can earn 500,000 C-bills per victory when they score above 130 point. The maximum C-bills a player can earn for this event are 10,000,000.
suggests victory win condition is a requirement

Victory is unquestionably a requirement.
My teams lost the first 10 matches. Yet I had 0 tournament score after those 10 matches, despite several where my individual score topped 170 points according to the tournament formula.

I've never seen evidence of their existence. I can't see how they would be possible given MWO is server-side authoritative, and the best a hacked client could do would be estimate where the enemy's head is.

Only your best 10 matches that are victories in each Faction/Class over the course of the event will be counted
Is it needed or not then ? Looks like it is to me.

You need to effectively get 12 assists and 150 damage to get a shot at the reward... besides winning.
If you're not a good shot, but you "hit everything", then you stand a chance.
Every 150 pts of damage = 1 assist
Every "kill" = 2 assists
You need "13 assists" to collect.
That's the best way to think of the scoring.
So to actually get the money, you must actually play well as a group.
Unfortunately, this is the solo queue, so good luck with that.

Yeah. You were in a match with me an hour ago where my team had 6 guys who did less than 100 damage each... 3 of them did less than 50 damage. I just don't understand how the matchmaker can expect anyone to be able to carry that hard.

100% that
did like 4kills and whatever assists in my ember first match today with like 3-400 damage, I know thats prob still short of the goal but we still lost horribly anyway.
Thinkin about it now It should just seriously be get over XX end of the match score and win money.

(Kills × 20) + (Kill Assist × 10) + ((Damage Done - Team Damage) ÷ 15)
So what we need here is definition of the part of the formula of ((Damage Done - Team Damage) ÷ 15), seems to me also this is a negative number. To use a match I had today where I had:
4 kills
7 assists
950 damage dealt
2496 team damage (excluding my damage)
win
Seems like I fall very short of 130 points
Dude, Team Damage is damage you dealt to your teammates, i.e.: Friendly Fire.
It's not your cumulative damage for the whole team, lol.

Was I? Did I crash and burn? (Having some comp trouble for a bit today unfortunately). I apologize nonetheless.
The only way to "beat the matchmaker" is remind everyone to regroup, focus fire, and not to chase stuff on their own.
While this provides zero guarantee of a win, it improves your chances significantly... especially with the solo queue tends to do their own thing on their own time with their own mind.
Can't win them all... and I've already collected 6 of 20. If you poke everything and focus fire them down... you are well on your way. Unfortunately, my #s are atypical of the solo queue at large...
Ranking #20 in Lights and rapidly shrinking (will switch it up later).

If in a match you do 200 damage but you shot your teammate in the back with an AC/20, your total damage is 180.
In Lord Orion's example:
2 kills = 2 x 20 points = 40 points
10 assists = 10 x 10 points = 100 points
1111 damage = 1111 / 15 = 74 points (yes.. I rounded)
Total points for that match: 214
Your match (assuming your team won) qualifies for the 500K bonus.
You all probably should change the language in that formula. I had always thought that meant the teams damage total as well. Friendly fire would make much more sense to put there.
