I feel stupid asking this but I opted in but cant figure out how to join a match. ive only ever played public matches. any help appreciated

It's the amount of damage you did you your own team. Don't shoot friendlies.

As long as you've opted in on the tournament page and are dropping while not part of a group (ie solo), you'll be in the right place.

that's the issue. I have opted in. the only way I know how to play is to join a public match and I always drop in a team . so I have to be doing something wrong. I don't know how to just drop in solo and searching for tourney info doesn't tell me how to do the solo drop

If PGI is keeping track of your score, why wont PGI show me my progress on the webpage? Is is super secret? Does PGI not want to share it?

Doesnt seem like it would take much effort on PGI's part.

The solo queue is totally ****** today because of this tournament. I think people are pushing out aggressively regardless of anything else (e.g. leaving slow 'mechs behind) looking for big scores. They are gambling that it pays off and that they win and therefore get a bit score off of the back of it. If the match is a total disaster and they get stomped they just move onto the next drop.

can you tell me how to drop into the solo queue? this is the part I seem to be missing

There are only two queues solo and group. If you are not in a group and drop into a public match then that is the solo queue. It is still 12 v 12 but there are no pre-made groups. Does that help?

not really beacuse I can only join a public match. I then always drop as a lance member. it should be easy, I just don't understand what I am missing.

Shadow, it sounds like you're dropping in solo already. You should expect to be part of a four person lance, which is part of a three lance team. If you're dropping as part of a group, you'd be part of a group before you click the launch button.

The solo queue isn't 1 v 1.

I can imagine how a new player might assume that but the solo queue simply means 12 individuals playing outside of a group (which are formed in-game by bringing up the friends list and clicking the create group button) against 12 other individuals.

OMG this is awful. I rack up a great number of kills, assists and damage ... but the team doesn't win so my score is 0.

Last match, I did 2 kills 10 assists, it got down to 1 v 2, but our guy ran out of bounds deliberately instead of fighting.

Can't even get on the leaderboard with that kind of derp in such abundance.

Clarification request. Are we limited to only 5 wins per weight class?

I'm pretty sure I've been cranking out 130+ Point wins in a Raven and havent gone past 5.

Why aren't my matches in a heavy chassis showing up? The leaderboard is only showing my matches run in medium IS mechs.

As far as I can see the scoreboard also counts losses. It's just the additional 500k CBills that you need a win for.

Scored 3 valid wins so far.

Never mind, once I had a bonus match in a heavy, it all of a sudden showed my rank on the leader board. Strange??
