This whole tournament has made me realize something. Something really needs to be done about the target lock mechanic. Large numbers of missile boats should not be able to hit a moving target that they don't have LoS on with 100% persecution. Even with LoS, there shouldn't be 100% chance for all all LRM to hit, but that is a different matter. It is nearly impossible to find suitable cover because the incoming fire is coming from multiple directions. And in the rare case where you do find adequate cover, you are effectively out of the fight and cannot contributing to your team.

I would suggest that if there is no LoS, then either there is no lock or that each individual LRM have a significant chance of straying off target and missing.

This is not to confuse target lock with targeting in general.

Your team was outplayed by the enemy team. Congratulate them and move on to the next match.

LRMs at higher ELO play seem to be used for suppression. If they force you to duck into cover, they're doing their job. When you have multiple LRMs inbound from different directions, it means their forces are divided, which can be taken advantage of. Just gotta find their weak side and put pressure on it.

Problem is that direct fire weapons already make you do this.

It's just LRMs tell you that you need to get into cover. Direct fire weapons just kill you if your not in cover.

I 100% agree that the entire IW (Information Warfare) needs to be looked at and rebuild.

Yeah.. People are going to flame you, telling you to L2Cover and all kinds of other stuff.

They really need to redo their whole approach to LRMs and ECM.
